An extra £40 a week is a lot extra to pay! The rowing machine sounds like a great idea, and much cheaper too. Good luck with that, hope it works well. £35 is a bargain for one too.
Hopefully you're able to have a lazy weekend - sounds like you've been really busy what with work and MS's and everything else.

Tonight I've been quite industrious and have batch cooked 10 portions of pasta & veg for the freezer, to use for lunches or a quick and relatively healthy dinner when we have nothing else ready. I used up some peppers which were nearly going over in the fridge, and lots of mushrooms and onions we had too. I also cooked lots of mashed potato to freeze in portions, although hunny has made a considerable dent in it already tonight!
I've also got one load of washing done which is now drying, downstairs has been hoovered and the kitchen cleaned. I may try and clean the kitchen floor before we go to bed.
We've just had a shopping delivery which came in at just under £50 and should hopefully last us until payday, apart from some fresh fruit etc.
I worked out we have £100 left to last us until payday this month - that's just for petrol, groceries and anything else (not including bills). We'll need at least one more tank of petrol (about £35) and approx £20 for fruit & veg, so about £45 left for any surplus items we may need.
Hope everyone's having a good evening

Yes, but I'm not sure how long it will last Raini!:rotfl:I think it's gone already... I was going to clean the kitchen floor but really can't be bothered now.
Well out of the £100 we have left this month, I've spent £4.58 - on a bargain kingsize duvet set from the Tesco clearance, so about £95 left.

Wow - a fiver for a duvet set is a bargain
. I saw a set in Next's window that would look really nice in my bedroom. I might investigate the price when I pop into town.
I fell asleep after my alarm went off this morning, so didn't get up until 9:30. Then work contacted me to look at a couple of jobs this morning, so house still a tip....
I have ordered a birthday present from Amazon and used my media survey vouchers to pay for it which was good. And I had enough vouchers left over to buy a book for myself which I saw in WHS the other day. It's a book by Tim Moore on travelling in Spain (specifically, the pilgrim's trek by donkey to Santiago). I have his book where he attempts cycling part of the Tour de France route with about the same level of fitness and experience as I have and it is very funny.
Someone has bought my really heavy textbook on Amazon, so I need to find something to package it in and hope it doesn't cost a fortune to post.
Hope you are having a nice day xMortgage, draw down Sept 2014: £222,000

Hiya Chocs,
Isn't it great being able to buy gifts with freebie vouchers?! We're not ones to skimp on gifts and we always make sure we put a lot of thought and effort into gift-buying, but it's always so much sweeter when it's free or partly funded! The book sounds good too, nice you're able to get yourself a little treat from the vouchers as well.
As for the textbook - I tend to place a piece of card either side of the cover to keep them straight/stiff and then wrap them tightly with a cut-down black bin bag (although we use the thicker bin bags, not the thin wispy ones). May be worth a try? It's how I send 99% of my parcels now after someone else suggested it to me.0 -
Another busy day for me today. Work is a bit crazy at the moment, so much so that I've (begrudgingly) offered to work overtime at the weekend. It's good money, but so draining - but the money comes first unfortunately. My plan for the weekend is to sort the small spare room out, so if I can get that done and also do a few hours extra at work, then I'll be happy.
This evening I have been a busy little bee and reorganised the kitchen drawers and cupboards to work better for us. I have also been through the food cupboards and thrown out a few things past their use by date, as well as having a bit of a 'stock-take'.There's a few storecupboard staples that I didn't realise we were running low on which I've put on a list for the next shop. I'd like to get a list of what's in the freezers and cupboard done at the weekend really as I've lost track a wee bit.
2 x 10p on the scratchcards tonight, no wins or surveys to report. I really need to get on the moneymaking train again and try and raise a bit of extra income, but I'm not sure where to start at the moment really. I thinnk we're all Amazoned and ebayed out! I'll have another scout arond at the weekend though, just in case I find a hidden stockpile of stuff to ebay anywhere!
Today I found a great deal on meat ordered via an online butcher. It's not one we've used before, but they seem to have very good reviews. They have lots of BOGOF's on and really good deals on bulk boxes, so I've placed an order to stock up the freezer, for the end of the month. I specified delivery for a date after payday, and they won't charge until delivery which suits up perfectly.
I'm really tired, so I'm going off to bed now for an early night. Let's hope it works some magic and I wake up refreshed and alert in the morning... (yeah, right!). :rotfl:
Night all

Glad to hear you've had some sales Ruby. :T
I've actually been to the gym tonight! Didn't hate it, so it's a step in the right direction! Feel much better for it now too, feel on a high tonight - must be all those 'feel good' endorphins. :rotfl:
We put a casserole in the slow coker this morning, so have had that for dinner tonight. There's one portion leftover to freeze too.
Hubby is out all day tomorrow, so just catering for myself. I plan on buying some more freezable tubs tomorrow in a home bargains shop nearby, and also pick up some flash febreeze stuff I have been sent some vouchers for. I love the smell of that stuff!
We've had a charity bag shoved through the door today which is pretty good timing as I'd sorted a few bits out for charity last night. I shall do the same tomorrow in my 'attack the spare room' operation. I may even extend to giving it a coat of paint - we have loads in the garage.
I'm not working overtime this weekend after all. I'm not disappointed, after the day I've had there today I don't want to step foot near the place, but enough about that.
Right, off to have a bath and an early ish night, I'm tired again now, but it's nice to be tired for a reason - ie. exercise - rather than just general tiredness bought on by a sedentary day.
Have a good weekend all

Well all of my good intentions are now halfway out the window!
I didn't sleep at all well last night, must've got about 3 hours of decent sleep at most, so I'm really struggling to function today and I'm craving sweet stuff - a sure sign of me being tired.
Last night I made a list of things I wanted to achieve this weekend and so far have only managed to cross two off out of about 8 jobs! The washing has been done - one load is on the line, one load is in the dryer as the weather is looking a bit iffy - and we also picked a parcel up from the P.O. this morning. I am going to go and sort out a friend's birthday present from the 'present box' upstairs shortly, so that'll be 3 things crossed off the list! I may get one or two more bits done, but I'm going to have to leave the bigger jobs of shifting furniture and clearing the spare room out for tomorrow, unless I suddenly find a burst of energy from somewhere.
I dropped hubby at work this morning and pottered around the shops nearby. I used some coupons for the febreeze flash stuff and managed to get 4 big bottles for £2.I also picked up some more freezable 'takeaway' containers for batch cooking and freezing. I picked up some veggies and bacon for making some recipes to freeze, which I'm hoping to get to later. I'm a bit annoyed at myself though as I also ended up buying some bits we didn't really need - just because I'm tired and was hungry. Some chocolate snuck in the basket too (it must've jumped from the shelf...) which is not particularly healthy, especially after going to the gym last night and doing well there! Oh well, just need to get an early night and, hopefully, good sleep tonight.
So it's one of those days really where I don't know what to do with myself and don't feel like doing anything!
I had a flyer in a magazine for a free scratchy thing on the 'Tombola' website, on which we "won" (in loose terms!) £5 bonus. Played it through and won nothing, but we haven't lost anything either!
I need to go out later to pick the bargain duvet cover order up from Tescos - will leave it until much later when hopefully it's quieter, as it's my idea od hell, especially on a Saturday - and I also need to get petrol as the car is nearly empty.
For now though, I'm going to shove the heating on - been avoiding it so far today but am now absolutely freezing! - and I'm going to 'potter' for a wee while.
Happy Saturday everyone x0
