DFSD's five year plan... and all it brings along the way

I've just realised that the title of this diary needs to change - what with our recent news, the 5 year plan has been scrapped! Unfortunately there's no way we will be able to save for a 'new house fund' for the next 5 years now - I think it may be new diary time again once payday hits!0

I see your issues with childcare. Luckily my inlaws look after my girls whilst I go to work. My company offers the childcare vouchers, I dont know the full ins and outs but I think you save tax that way.
It will all work out in the end xMummytogirls x0 -
Will look out for your new diary then!!Mummytogirls x0

Thanks MTG, I'm sure it will - I'll try and look into the childcare vouchers further when I'm a bit further along - hopefully they'll be the answer!

I've photographed my ebay 'stash' and have listed 5 items so far - the higher value items. I may finish some more later but need to make a few phonecalls tonight first. There's 1 watcher on one already!0

I didn't get round to listing any more items on ebay last night, will try and do the rest tonight as I have the photos uploaded and ready to go.
Bids are up to £9.49 already and there's watchers on all items, several on a couple of the lots.
It's payday tomorrow, so I'm actioning the payment to clear the sainsbury's card today - signature will be updated shortly.
We had to fill the car up with petrol on the way to work today, costing nearly £43. I really don't know how it goes so quickly.
The car tax is due next month, so the £100 tax and insurance savings will cover that for another six months. I think it's about £80 every six months, we can never afford to do it for a whole year.
I received my Amazon voucher this morning from the surveys, so can buy hubby something towards his birthday gifts with that. I also completed another survey, so am well on my way to getting another voucher.
Have a good day all,
DFSD

PAYDAY! :j
All funds have been deposited where they need to be - the credit card's been paid off and there's £100 sitting in the e-saver tax & insurances savings pot. I've worked out outgoings vs income for the month and we'll have £150 surplus once eveything has been paid, allowing £300 for the groceries and petrol budget. Out of this £150, I need to buy hubby a couple more bits for his birthday; a £10 voucher for another family member's birthday and possibly something to wear to a wedding in August & 2 in Spetember - although hopefully the profit made on ebay will cover that.
Talking of ebay, we have lots more bids and watchers with 5 days to go.I didn't get round to listing the remaining few items, but will try and do so on Sunday.
Last night I baked a cake to take to our hosts for this weekend, and also picked some lovely flowers from our garden - hubby was going to buy some flowers, but I said there's no need when we have a garden full. I would much rather receive hand picked, home grown flowers than shop-bought any day. I wrapped some ribbon round them to keep them together and they look (and smell) beautiful.
We have a few bits and pieces we need on the shopping list - mostly fruit and veg - but we'll buy it fresh next week. I don't think we're going to need an online shop this coming month as our storecupboards are full, so I'm going to withdraw the cash for the shopping budget and keep it in the house again. That worked well when we stuck with it a couple of months ago.
I've completed one more survey this morning - so another £3 should be in the paypal balance within the week. I'll leave it there until the ebay things are finished and transfer it all over at once.
Have a good weekend all

Morning DFSD, when I got home the other day I remembered some stuff that I wanted to tell you!! When you get a bit further on you need to get registering with all the supermarkets for their baby clubs, also pampers & huggies if your going to use disposable nappies. They are always sending vouchers out and that way you can get stocked up for cheap! Plus you get loads of freebies too!!
Hope youve had a lovely no spending weekend!! xMummytogirls x0 -
Hi MTG and thanks so much for the info, I've signed up to a few already but haven't received much yet. Think it may take a few weeks for anything to arrive!
Hope you had a good weekend too x
We just got back from our weekened away, which was lovely and relaxing and relatively cheap. We bought a couple of rounds of drinks for our hosts and some petrol so nothing extravagant.
I've checked ebay and we are up to £75 worth of bids with 3 days to go.I still haven't listed the other bits yet though.
We've started picking fruit from our garden tonight too. We've had a couple of cherries, a tomato, 2 strawberries and some blueberries! I can't wait until everything is ripe and ready in the masses.
Off to put the secong load of washing on the line to dry now.

Ebay bids up to £93 now.
Tonight I need to pick up some shopping after work as we've run out of fruit and veg and a few other bits. Hopefully spend will be no more than £25.
75p has been transferred to the e-saver from the main bank account - I'm going to try and remember to transfer the odd pennies every day, it soon adds up!
Hope Monday's good to all
