I would not recommend One Call Insurance if they were the last insurance company on the planet. They breach contract at the drop of a hat, their customer services are none existent and extremely rude, they are refusing to send my proof of no claims bonus which is illegal but they seem to think they are untouchable.0

Just type reviews into Google thank god i am not with them but looks like you are not alone http://www.reviewcentre.com/reviews109302.htmlHappiness, Health and Wealth in that order please!:A0

I wish I'd stumbled on the numerous negative comments about OneCall before my wife had signed up to them.
Incidentally she did search for online reviews before signing up through the famous meerkat site and came back with largely positive comments on reviewcentre, having looked at them now I see they are definitely suspicious and appear to be fictitious (I’d be interested to find out if review centre log IP addresses of their reviewers – to see if a link to OneCall could be established).
Anyway, our experi
ence has been poor to say the least.
Firstly we were told our policy had been cancelled (without warning) due to us not supplying proof of no claims and driver licences (we had - via their upload tool). We eventually got this resolved, but not without having to resort to public transport while we “thought” we were uninsured – OneCall insisted, despite contradicting their own correspondence, that we were insured and that the policy had not actually been cancelled.
Secondly we’ve moved address – three streets away to a house with a drive and garage. A lower risk you might think, a reduction in premium? No chance, OneCall want a £55 admin fee just to update their records. Not happy sir/madam, why not cancel and go elsewhere, certainly, that’ll be £49.
While I don’t think it’s unreasonable to apply an admin fee, per se, I do feel this crowd are extortionate.
Has anyone had any success with the FOS/FSA complaints route? I’m more than happy to go down that path as I feel that OneCall do not treat customers fairly.0 -
When dealing with this crowd always keep a note of time of call and who was spoken to. I too insured with them and was caught out with their admin fee. A change needed to be made to the policy so I rang them within 10 days of taking it out to see if it would incur a cost and did I need to do anything. I was advised everything was ok and not to worry. A few days later I received a Bullish letter telling me that I was at fault and needed to pay an extra £44 plus £55 admin charge. When I rang and told them about the previous phone call they refused to believe me but I explained that if they listened to their tape recordings they would hear the conversation. All the person on the phone would say was "What good would that do?"
This year in accordance with their terms and conditions I received a renewal invitation email advising that unless I contacted them at least 5 days before the premium was due they would automatically take the premiums for next year.
I made the effort and found a new policy weeks before expiry and then sent them an email 10 days before it expired telling them I no longer required their services. Guess what they have taken the money saying I should have spoken to them. They claim that they did not receive the mail but I have an auto acknowledgement saying that they did.
Best advice is to steer clear of this lot and save yourselves a lot of hassle and money.0 -
I have just cancelled my new policy with this company, well within the 14 day cooling off period. I am being charged £78.00 for cancelling my policy ( not without a fight ) They tried to charge me £55.00 for an undisclosed fault claim and another £61 as a new quote. I sent them evidence that it was a not at fault claim and telling them i wanted to cancel my policy, funnily enough I never heard from them. So I phoned them again (As I said, it will not be One call) and they started hitting me with all these charges, in total it has cost me £102 to have my car insured for 12 days with this company, I intend to take this company to task. Please, Please, Please stay away from One Call this company is ripping people off and they are only interested in all their extortionate fees. NEVER CALL ONE CALL:mad::mad::mad:0

I only wish I had seen these blogs before I decided to try and get insurance cheaper.
One Call are trying to charge me £32.68 for cancelling a policy before it starts and when I haven't returned any emails stating that I want to go ahead with it???!!!
I have cancelled via email.
Then had an email the next day saying I couldn't cancel via email and had to phone one of their "trained advisors will be available to handle your request" - oh no they won't!
He is now sending me a letter to say I want to cancel a policy that isn't even due to start until 31.5.12. Couldn't pass me through to a supervisor or manager as it had passed 17.30 and they obviously sprint out of the office like an Olympic athletes at that precise time.
Couldn't give me a call reference no. so I could refer to the call until the call had ended.
Basically no further forward than when I picked up the phone - what don't they understand I WANT TO CANCEL A POLICY BEFORE IT HAS BEGUN!!!
Was does concern me is they have my bank details. Any ideas?:eek:0 -
It looks like you did take out a policy (otherwise how do they have your bank details?).
They do set out their cancellation charges, and £32 is at the lower end of cancellation charges these days!
Be sure you comply with their cancellation conditions (eg return any docs using recorded delivery) and ask them to confirm the cancellation back to you.0 -
I have reported them to the Ombudsman for their unscrupulous practices and disproportionate charges.
I had a letter back from One Call saying it was all 'regrettable'/ 'unfortunate' , bla, bla , bla!!!
Basically they have fobbed me and the Ombudsman off.
EVERYBODY MUST REPORT THEM.
Something has to be done to stop this company making a spanking good living out of scamming.
REPORT THEM * REPORT THEM * REPORT THEM0 -
