I personally dont like Sunday weddings as they end up being very expensive, but as you are going to have the bring a plate and all then that probably wouldnt be as much of an issue tara :)

My sister got married on a Friday. I think they invited 60 people and 56 were there so it being a Friday didn't stop loads of people coming :)

I got her cord trousers, a cardigan, a dress, a jumper, 2 tops aged 12-18months to put away for her birthday and 2 sun hats, for £30. Along with what I have already got in that size, thats her next size wardrobe complete.

It was more of the fact that for a Friday people would have to have a day off, and a Sunday they probably wouldn't stay late, but does that matter? Bearing in mind they think they are coming to a christening/engagement party.

DH and I got married on a Friday. Just about everyone invited turned up for the reception. We did a late registry office with family and then a meal with family and then the reception.
