Anyone used the disposable bibs any good or total carp?

I used them on holiday for convience last year- mix of Tesco and Tommee Tippee. They were fine for normal food dribbles, but they're just like thick kitchen towel, so they'll be no good for sick.

Council tax: ours is £1377.71 in band C. We have to pay the water seperately, and thats £376.19 for the year. We're not metered so we can use as much as we like. There's masses of water in the north east thanks to Kielder reservoir, so we've never had a hose pipe ban.

    Weezl - oh he's gorgeous. That's a lovely picture.

ECG - I had one in A&E once after I collapsed at work. They just stick pads on you and you lay on a bed while it does it's stuff. It didn't hurt at all. Turned out I had glandular fever so nothing serious.

Today - had a lovely day out. Turkish baths are not like the proper Turkish ones. They're more like a modern version of Roman baths. They were built by the Victorians. The changing cubicles are made of dark wood, with posh wall lamps and beds in and it's very ornate. You can lay there to cool down, or there are sofas in the middle bit.

There are three warm rooms, and they get warmer as you move through. They're sort of like corridors with marble benches against the walls and wooden steamer chairs. There's a hot steam room, and a jacuzzi too, and warm marble slabs where you get massaged. Then there was showers and a dressing room with hairdryer.

Really enjoyed it and Mam loved it. She had no idea where she was going and said it was a brilliant present. Will definitely be going back.
Here I go again on my own....

darnit, I missed WWII/Holocaust talk! My MA is Holocaust Studies, don't y'all know ;):p It's a common myth that WWII was only about the Jews - they actually were probably secondary in Hitler's motivations...it's quite complicated when you delve into it and I won't bore you all to tears.

not been a good afternoon. I had a work thingee but had to mad dash off practically as soon as I got there as Finn apparently would not stop screaming and wouldn't take the bottle of EBM. Partially my fault as it was a bit naive to think I could leave him for so long (when not done that since he was about 4 wks) and we haven't been diligent with giving bottles so he's "off" them right now. Anyway, DH was in a right panic the whole time and basically from when I left the house at 3:30 til I got back at 6pm, he was wailing for about 2 hrs of that :o:o:o I'm guessing the next step is to go back to the beginning and slowly "wean" him off me being around by starting at maybe 20 minutes, then working up to longer periods?? Ideas?? Also will work at the bottle thing as I'm sure that was half the problem :o

weezl, lovely photo!! I wanna hold him, he's so ickle!

be back in a second, dinner's on :)

Awwwww, Weezl he is absolutely gorgeous:D I'm so pleased for you that he is here.....how has Fergie reacted to him being in the house?

We've shown him to fergie a few times, he smiles and likes to touch, but we're a little wary since he hasn't yet understood the meaning of 'gentle'!

the MW who attended us is coming back on sat for a debrief because she feels there's a few things which weren't straightforward it'll help me to talk about, so that's good. I didn't know they offered that.:)

Not long til you have a little cuddly bundle, Mel :D

OH's MA is in German history and I love winding him up with oversimplistic statements like that :rotfl: Sorry, I should have been more clear ;)

That is an excellent service. I emailed my midwife asking if she knew an English-language counsellor who dealt with birth-related trauma but she didn't reply, and I'm loath to ask at work because I don't trust word not to get out that I'm not at my best IYSWIM.

I wonder if any of the accredited counsellors on the birthtauma website do online counselling? That might be a way for you to access some english speaking help?

Really good idea to get it sorted in your mind as you think about number 2, well done :)

I think a second PG with unresolved things from first labour would be tough :(
