I'm off to a Sling Walk on Monday! Can't make the next two Warrington meets, but hopefully the one after. I've found my local group though, which is good.
Are ring slings and wraps suitable for a very large lady? Should I stick to Mei Tais as they work so well?
Thank you :-)
The meet after will be April 9th and we'll be having a day out as it's Easter, chuff knows where but that's not the point!
Ring slings, yes, just get a larger size, although I think I have a medium and it's ginormous! The only problem I found was that it pulled on my back, that could be my bad back or my bad technique. The pouchlings lady is really lovely and can help you get it comfy. :-)
Wraps really can be used on any size person, I've got a 5.2 storch and it's enormous!. Basically the length you need will depend on the tie you do. We're about the same size from what I rember so you'll be grand with either a 4.6 to do shorter ties like a ruck on your back, or a 5.2 to do a longer tie like a front wrap cross carry on your front.
Of course there's no reason to branch out from mei tais as they do indeed work but I adore my wraps, they're so pretty and versatile and for me, so comfy!Comping, freebieing and trying to pay the mortgage off early!0 -
Sparkle! Sorry I forgot to bung you in my op! I knew I'd forgotten someone! Sorry, are you coming to a sling meet?Fritha Remind me on Friday to ask if V can face outwards in mine. I think the answer is no, but wanted to check.
The answer is technically but it's an adventure! Basically facing inwards they follow the contours of your body and their back is nicely rounded, facing outwards not so much. It's also a bit interesting putting them in! If she's wanting to see more have you tried her on your back?Comping, freebieing and trying to pay the mortgage off early!0 -
lol yeah I'll be there on friday, make sure you're looking your best, Fritha is wanting to take photos!
obviously I'm not saying you look rough normally just you know, I'll be making sure I have clean hair and though you'd like the warning too - is my foot in my mouth? :rotfl:
Glam always looks, well, Glam! Really do remind me to take pictures!Comping, freebieing and trying to pay the mortgage off early!0 -

My hands have cracked from all the washing... Good job I'm testing some moisturiser at the minute!!!
Aimee's awake, lounging around the sofa... No more sick, and she's now said she's hungry... I said we'll give it another hour and then I'll make her some toast... Might put a thin layer of jam on rather than clover...
Added you WMA very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...My Fathers Daughter wrote: »Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

Ooh Fritha, seeing you the other day spurred me on to get the hawk out... Caitlyn was really happy on the way to school yesterday and on the way back we stopped at my friends... I think Caitlyn got bored because she started licking my cleavage, then tried to give me a hicky there  and also bit me... I took her out of it for a bit before Dave thinks I have time for an affair lol..A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls...
