Another off topic rant.. but..
We got a evening invitation to the wedding do of an old college friend today. I've seen her once since Rhys was born and once while pregnant. They've been living together for years already and the invite says "[they] have requested that gifts be in the form of monetary donations"... Donations to(wards) what exactly?! Even if you're going to spend the money on your gas bill, surely some vague/false/bluff idea might be nice for the guests?!
That sounds really rude. It would make me cross to get an invite with that written in it.
I don't think people should ask for gifts/money in the invitation. It assumes the guests will buy a present. I think it's nicer to wait until guest ask what you would like for a gift and then let them know. We didn't mention gifts at all in our invite.chopsticks wrote: »When my mum has her, they stand at the window and wave bye-bye so she knows I've gone and she's fine all day, so I thought that was the way to go with nursery.
I always make a point of saying goodbye rather than sneaking off. They need to learn that sometimes Mammy has to go, but she always comes back.chopsticks wrote: »Before I forget, MIL told me that Huggies wipes are buy 1 get 2 free in Tesco at the moment. Yes they are! I bought some yesterday but forgot to post about themMy_Fathers_Daughter wrote: »
A very sad day here in MFD towers. My uncle passed away last night. He was 93 and had lived a very long and full life, it was very peaceful, he passed in hospital in no pain.
Sorry to hear that. Thinking of you xx
*hugs* to all the poorly people and babies, and hope everyone feels better soon.
Charlotte was fine playing out and she really enjoyed herself.
Her hair is getting really long and it's a bit flyaway, so I tried putting a bit of conditioner on the ends and it looks much neater. She was really excited about having conditioner on and had to come down and tell Dad immediatelyHere I go again on my own....0 -
I love pokemon!!!
On that note, I'm off to watch True Blood0 -
Someone asked about boots vouchers earlier (Elle?) I had 2 lots of £2 gift cards come through from a product test I did so you don't need a fiver on a card
Also, I had the chicco winter stroller for Aimee and it was a perfectly adequate buggy... Not as good as my Maclaren Techno XLR... And nowhere near the Oyster... But better than the Winnie the Pooh Hauk buggy I had for Aimee prior to the chicco one... The Hauk one was a nightmare to push and had a turning circle of a P&O ferry!!
Em, I had some garden furniture from Tesco last year on a sales glitch, one of the chairs broke about 6 weeks later and I rang about it, they didn't have anymore in stock but they offered to collect it for a full refund or give me 10% back which I went for because I liked the furniture and didn't want the hassle of returning it... The refund should have been about £2 but more than a fiver went it which was a bit of a result! Customer services were really good too...
Tia, hope Amber has a quiet night for you.
Glam, hope OH stops being a !!!!!! for you!A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...My Fathers Daughter wrote: »Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

We always make a point of saying goodbye too, I like that he sees me off with a smile and if he was ever sad to see me go then I would want to give him a cuddle and a kiss and to promise him I will be back as soon as I can.
I was very conscious that I was going back to work when Benjamin was little so I tried hard to make him the independent little booger he is!
Hugs to all poorly babies. S xxplease listen to MFD - she is a wise womanProud Mummy to the gorgeous Benjamin John born 14 March 2009, 8lbs 14ozA new little seedling on the way, due 30 September 20120 -
Did you ring and moan or email? The order was in OH's name so I dont know if I can ring and moan or not, but I can email IYSWIM! If I leave him to ring, it'll never get done!!
DH phoned but I'm sure they will speak to you if you have all the details and tell them ur DH is out of the country on work or something similar so you thought you should phone in the first instance see what they say!!
MFD ((((hugs)))) for you and the family x x
Oh and Glam hope your ok, we all have pr1cks of DH sometimes lol
I got excited about washing my hair how sad. I've not had my usual shampoo for well over a month, coz I moved I don't see my hairdresser to ask her to get it for me as the only place at home I can get it is now Trade only. But woohoo I found it online a lot lot cheaper (£9.99 instead of £16.59) to and it came so I managed to wash my hair and it feels silky smooth........Everyone is entitled to their opinionEllie 25/12/070 -
Sorry to hear about your uncle Mfd. ((hugs))
I always made a point of saying goodbye to Aimee too... She also went through a bit of a funny phase when she was a toddler and didn't want me to leave her in creche at church or playgroup... I stayed with her during that phase, even when people were telling me to sneak out while she wasn't looking... I didn't want her to think she couldn't trust me to stay with her when she was feeling insecure... It was very shortlived in the end...A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...My Fathers Daughter wrote: »Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

Bah, I'm babysitting for my friend... Super tired, would love to be curled up in bed... No idea what time to expect her back and her internet keeps cutting out... Getting on my wick a bit! (plus Caitlyn's asleep in the buggy and in hindsight, I should have got Hubby and Aimee to come with me for a while and take her home at bedtime... She's going to be all disturbed when we go home and probably won't go back to sleep!)A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... Hugs MFD for your sad day.
And hugs for poorly babies.
I thought mine were better - but V screached for an hour earlier, until Daddy came home from work and she grinned at him and made a liar of me. She's still got the smelliest poops.
And earlier, I wasn't sure whether L was putting it on because she cba with school on a Friday. But she's been sick a few times tonight, and got herself really upset because she's got a gym competition on Sunday and she's worried she won't be able to go and she'll let down her partner.
And I feel like i need to be sick too.
And I was supposed to be out tonight having fun, but my RL friend was infected by our germs and has been sick all afternoon.
And OH is boogering off tomorrow on a male bonding night, camping somewhere in Wales.
I'm fed up with poorly children, and fed up with moaning on here about them.
Has anyone got anything happy to post about?:beer:0
