I though that too. She moved without so much as a tiny flinch! :rotfl:kindofagilr wrote: »
Hey Gym no I didntI managed ok with E today though, but he cried for two hours from half 6
its wrecked the three of us, Awwwwww G is lush
(((HUGS))) CAZ
I'm off to bed, we are wrecked, E screamed from about half 6 till half 8
Kindof - Alex used to scream from around 6pm to 8pm every night. We called it the witching hours. It was horrendous, we ate our tea in two sittings or I just waited until gone 9 when Alex was in bed. I hate to say it but this only stopped at about 61/2 months. He suffered with terrible colic and reflux. We use colief drops - http://www.colief.com/ - in his bottles. (expensive at nearly £10 a bottle, but you can get them on prescription from your Dr.) This did help quite a lot. But as said many times before, it's all about perseverance.
Hope Charlie is doing better now, and other poorly children.
Happy Birthday to Katie
Hugs and sorry for your redundancy Jam
Yay for breakthrough in Benjamins bedtime.
Lovely photos yesterday, of Guy, Henry and Amber in her L&G.
Bedtime & Sleeping - Alex now goes down between 7-7.15pm. Take him to his room, change into sleepsuit and sleeping bag, story, last bottle , in his cot, kiss and seahorse on. And leave him. Most of the time he is asleep within 5 mins, sometimes I may have to go back and put his dummy in. He still wakes once or twice in the night, I feed him whilst still in the cot, put seahorse on again and leave him to it. Seems to be working.(And you just know tonight it will all go wrong)
He would probably go down earlier, last night he fell asleep downstairs at 6.45pm, but if he did we would hardly see him at all with only getting home at 5.30pm from work every night.:(
And above all else, I have to sing the praises of he Hazelwood teething Necklace, (and Sami for her suggestion) ever since putting it on, my little bubba has changed from a screaming nightmare, to a lovely pleasant, smiley little man.0 -
WM - we have the opposite effect with the necklace - I tried it again today and he screamed for the entire 20minutes it was on! Took it off and he smiled and is now fast asleep!
I think Alex and J have swapped! I'm seriously thinking about just bringing him in our bed from now on when he wakes up and definitely getting to bed earlier!
I thought last night I would perseve with it but after over an hour of him still crying I gave in. Have tried gripe water today as he's not had it since I started weaning so perhaps its wind (clutching at straws!) - he did let out a pretty impressive burp after his morning bottle which is unusual so we'll see!A very busy Yummy Mummy to a 1 year old gorgeous boy :smileyhea

EA - I had to book my 6 week check with the gp myself, that's for me and the 8 week one is for bubs from what I've been told.
I was told i'd get a letter which i did. It says "Post-Natal check for mum and baby. Please attend ** May 2010 (i forgot the actual date lol) please do not book an 8 week appointment for your babys jabs."
So im thinking they will do it all in one visit?0 -

it's OK - its actually called the 6-8 week check. J had his at about 8 weeks.
There is leeway with checks and jabs.A very busy Yummy Mummy to a 1 year old gorgeous boy :smileyhea

*confused* Would you suggest a direct BFer stopped BFing after just a few fractious hours? He's been an absolute dream all day time, he just woke up hungry  We'll stop when we're ready and in the meantime just feed more EBM as necessary.
And on that note, I'm off to bedNight all xx
Apologies chick! I have clearly put several of your comments together and come up with 5I thought you were looking to stop expressing (or feeding EBM) sometime in the near future but were planning to carry on until he was 1. I know I was getting a bit 'how are we going to finish this' by 10 1/2 months.
So yes, I would say it to anyone who had (I thought) been hinting that they might be ready to finish. I know very clearly how hard it is to be brave enough to stop and how scary it is to actually stop. Nothing to do with how he actually gets the BM - you know me better than that!

Ahh Glam. Have been there, especially when he was ill. Spent a good few nights in the spare bed with him. Was so worried that he would get used to it and hate his own bed. It is especially bad when you know you have to get up for work. And you'll do anything to get just that bit more sleep.
Also agree with Som about the sleeping bags. Alex definately knows its bedtime when he goes in his, and instantly calms. Now if we could just go to sleep all night and start eating more than mush and puree I would have the perfect baby.:D
ETA: And yes I so know I've definately blown it now.0 -
Good luck for today SM, you'll do fine, you sound v well prepared!
Happy Birthday Katie, hope she has a wonderful day, x
*Hugs to all who need them*, hope the poorly babies are all on the mend, and sleep deprived mummy's are ok, x
Glad K seems better Mel :T
Kindof hope you're ok hun, have you got a baby swing? We bought a cheapy one on eBay the other day and it gives us a few minutes respite when he's at his most screamy?
Beenie Amber is just gorgeous, her eyes are stunning & she looks so happy in her L&G!
So sorry to hear about your redundancy Jam x
Glad your car is back & ok Som & :j for their mistake!
Thanks so much for all the advice on the mastitis, just about stopped me from wapping them off with a meat cleaver :rotfl: Thanks for the link to the group Elle, have bookmarked it and will work out how to joinI am exclusively pumping, though I still try to get him to latch sometimes but less often than I was as he really isn't interested
I'll persevere for as long as I pump though and pray that one day it just clicks for us.
Thanks Pigpen - have called the docs this morning but no apps til Friday  So one's booked and I can try again in the morning to see if anything's cancelled in time for tomorrow. Bleeding seems to be wearing off again so hoping that's nothing, I never knew that it could stop then start again
Sami the blockage is always at the top on the left side, so nowhere near the horn :undecided I think my boobs are just stupid
*snipped*got-it-spend-it wrote: »Please try to remember that you are doing a fantastic job, and if you do want to keep going with the BFing/expressing then this horrible phase will pass and it will seem like a breeze.
Thanks GisiI really try to remember but so many people keep telling me to switch to formula (namely OHs family) that I start to wonder if it's worth all this hard work & pain, though I know deep down that it is, just could use a little more RL support for what I'm doing I guess
& what a gorgeous pic of Henry
Not sure if I remember rightly as was phone reading in the night but someone asked after SJ? She's fine I think, meeting her & A for lunch soon
In a bit of shock here, Guy slept from 11 til 3, 4 til 7, awake for a bit til 8 after feeding, and he's still flat out now?! Normally he's wailing for food after 4 hours, gonna have to force him up in a mo to get dressed and fed!Baby Boy arrived March 25th 2010 - 17 days late & 8lb 10oz :j0 -
LOL WM - cue sleepless nights!! Benjamin woke 3 times in the night last night - 2am, 3am and 5am. Not impressed!! Not sure if it was teeth, injections, tummy ache or couldn't be arrissed to find his own dummy-ness
I have a bummer of a meeting this afternoon too (which has been prefaced by a flurry of increasingly hostile emails woo-hoo) not what I need when I am feeling a little fragile.
Happy Birthday to Katie!
Good luck to SM!
