Apologies chick! I have clearly put several of your comments together and come up with 5 I thought you were looking to stop expressing (or feeding EBM) sometime in the near future but were planning to carry on until he was 1. I know I was getting a bit 'how are we going to finish this' by 10 1/2 months.

So yes, I would say it to anyone who had (I thought) been hinting that they might be ready to finish. I know very clearly how hard it is to be brave enough to stop and how scary it is to actually stop. Nothing to do with how he actually gets the BM - you know me better than that!

Ahh Glam. Have been there, especially when he was ill. Spent a good few nights in the spare bed with him. Was so worried that he would get used to it and hate his own bed. It is especially bad when you know you have to get up for work. And you'll do anything to get just that bit more sleep.

Also agree with Som about the sleeping bags. Alex definately knows its bedtime when he goes in his, and instantly calms. Now if we could just go to sleep all night and start eating more than mush and puree I would have the perfect baby.:D

ETA: And yes I so know I've definately blown it now.

Kindof hope you're ok hun, have you got a baby swing? We bought a cheapy one on eBay the other day and it gives us a few minutes respite when he's at his most screamy?

Thanks so much for all the advice on the mastitis, just about stopped me from wapping them off with a meat cleaver :rotfl: Thanks for the link to the group Elle, have bookmarked it and will work out how to join I am exclusively pumping, though I still try to get him to latch sometimes but less often than I was as he really isn't interested I'll persevere for as long as I pump though and pray that one day it just clicks for us.

Thanks Pigpen - have called the docs this morning but no apps til Friday :mad: So one's booked and I can try again in the morning to see if anything's cancelled in time for tomorrow. Bleeding seems to be wearing off again so hoping that's nothing, I never knew that it could stop then start again

Thanks Gisi I really try to remember but so many people keep telling me to switch to formula (namely OHs family) that I start to wonder if it's worth all this hard work & pain, though I know deep down that it is, just could use a little more RL support for what I'm doing I guess & what a gorgeous pic of Henry

Not sure if I remember rightly as was phone reading in the night but someone asked after SJ? She's fine I think, meeting her & A for lunch soon

In a bit of shock here, Guy slept from 11 til 3, 4 til 7, awake for a bit til 8 after feeding, and he's still flat out now?! Normally he's wailing for food after 4 hours, gonna have to force him up in a mo to get dressed and fed!

LOL WM - cue sleepless nights!! Benjamin woke 3 times in the night last night - 2am, 3am and 5am. Not impressed!! Not sure if it was teeth, injections, tummy ache or couldn't be arrissed to find his own dummy-ness

I have a bummer of a meeting this afternoon too (which has been prefaced by a flurry of increasingly hostile emails woo-hoo) not what I need when I am feeling a little fragile.

EA - as Glam said, its 6-8 week check. Think Evie was about 7-8 weeks & I booked her 8-week jabs while i was there for the following week.

Evie has had an hours nap this morning which is good for her. Albeit with me holding her (hence me being on here rather than doing the million and one things i have to do!)

Last night was ok. Took her for bath at half 6 and started trying to get her to sleep just after 7 and she finally went just after 8. Then she woke up at 1:45am & i took her in our bed to feed and did that on & off through the night til 7:30am. I find it a bit uncomfy when she's in our bed for so long but was good to not have a long wakeful period for either of us. She was sick a bit when she got up so think she'd been greedy having it on tap and over-guzzled!

Put her in her door bouncer this morning - she loved it!

EA - as Glam says, there is leeway on appts and jags, they are not always at precisely the same time for everyone. And H and I had our check up at the same time, there wasn't 2 separate appts so that's probably the same for you by the sound of it. It's good Lily's milia is clearing up. Holly had it and it took us weeks to get a decent photo of her poor thing. She has lovely skin now and lots of people comment on it.

MFD - hope your meeting goes well and you feel better later.

PP - Well done Caitlyn (hopes spelling is right!)

SM - Good luck for your test, just chill out for the moment.

Som - Have you tried cherry dummies rather than the orthodontic ones? I think a lot of people find that baby prefers the shape. Holly will take a cherry dummy if she is at a sleepy stage and it helps her nod off, but there is no way she would take one if she was crying. My friend's baby takes one if he is crying (which he does a lot) though which is strange to me! I don't know how she gets him to keep it in his mouth!

I do! I swear I could strangle him sometimes!! He has driven me to tears over stupid things like constantly eating paper and cardboard :mad: he just rips up books and puzzle boxes. When I say no/stop etc he just smiles and shoves it in his gob anyway

I decided this morning to go buy a cheap cot for Ed so I looked on my spreadsheet that I did before he was born where I compared cost of a new cot for him against a new bed for Chris (who's in the cotbed) well the cheaped cot then was the Ikea gulliver so I go on to ikea website and it's now 1yr on and nearly £25 more just for the cot! :eek:

gym - I used to get told that I ought to put her on formula (mainly by MIL). Sometimes I thought it might be easier, but looking back I think it's easier (for me) to BF. I don't have to sterilise anything and it's easier at night. It's up to YOU how you feed your baby, no-one else. If you decide to go with formula then do it because YOU want to, and not because you feel pressurised.

We are cherry dummies here too! Only the pirate ones, no others will do! Although he didn't take one at all (unless you held it in for him LOL) until 12 weeks.

Now when Benjamin is crying I take his dummy out of his mouth and pop it back in which prompts him to suck on it...and hence stop crying!

That is another battle we need to tackle - stopping him having a dummy when he isn't tired. He mostly only has them for sleeping but he seems to hide them all over the place so he disappears under the dining table (or wherever) and comes back with one in his mouth!!


This morning he sat in his cot with his dalmation shouting 'woof, woof, woof' how cute!!

EA - yeay for acne clearing, am sure T's is gettin worse it's looks so horrid when she gets upset but after Reading up on it now know this is normal.

Gym - boo at the lack of RL support, I've been surprised with the support I got from both sides of our families as I'm the first to bf for ages and thought they'd persaud me to swap to formula when I was having a rough time.

WM - do you find Alex has a fave sleeping bag?

Fitzio - might bee worth trying thanks only tried orthodontic so far, tho she was really upset yesterday when I was trying to give her the dummy so could have been that.

Well havin a good morning as T has been asleep on her gym on and off so managed to shower and do my hair then legs and dress and she still hasn't fussed
