I think I would still sterilise bottles, but only because milk breeds bacteria... But maybe I'm overcautious?

Aimee's just turned 6... I'm sure she'd like me to harrass her into writing to someone too ;)

Seriously have to do some ironing... 2 ikea blue bags full  Hubby's putting legion on so there's something going on in the background for me... Nice...
A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...

Bottles and my expressing equipment were sterilised right up until I stopped using them.

Katie's dummies are washing hot soapy water everyday and boiled weekly.
Proud to be dealing with my debts

I have an 8 year old boy who loves computers and is very money orientated!
a 9 year old girl who writes for scotland and is full of attitude
and a 4 year old girl who would absolutly love to recieve a letter or pic now and again!
Would an almost three year old girl be acceptable to your four year old girl? Alice would quite happily draw pictures and dictate letters.

Question for those in the know about bf, is there food I should be avoiding that will upset LO tummy cos she seems to have alot of wind :( oh and should I heat ebm before giving it to her?
We always heated the EBM because when they get it direct from you it's warm so that's what they're used to. OH found if it was less warm she used to feed much more reluctantly.
Caz where do you find the time to do all that  i struggle to make a batch of fairy cakes and dinner, before collapsing in a heap :rotfl:
And here's me wishing I had more children to eat everything because I keep having to wait for everything to be eaten so I can cook more.

    Thankyou ladies :)

I'm just plotting ways to get part of my kitchen worktop back ;) We cold water sterilise because of the pump parts but I guess after I stop expressing (hmmm..), we can get a smaller container (square rather than round so can tuck it further in the corner) just for 1-2 bottles and the med syringes :) The things taking up the most space in the steriliser are the pump parts anyway.

When do you stop sterilising bottles? I know "they" say you should have them off them by a year [not a dig at all, MDW, you just reminded me! :)] but if they still have them after that, do you have to sterilise them until they use them no more or just wash in hot soapy water after a year? *confused*

Really? I know 'they' say that they can move to cows milk at 1 but I didn't know that they recommend stopping bottles? They are still 'supposed' to have a pint of milk a day at 1, which is a lot to have in a cup.
Benjamin will take milk from a sippy cup but it takes all day!! He has 3 bottles a day, 180ml, 180ml and 210ml (so I think he may be down on his milk intake anyway...).
We will carry on with the bottles until he can take milk effectively from a cup - stuff 'them'!!

I still sterilise milk stuff because milk bacteria can be particularly nasty (and I never wash the bottles out straight away LOL) and will do as long as he has a bottle. But I wouldn't worry if he had a bottle that wasn't sterilised (I have used them twice in the past if we have been out!!)

I was thinking about the sterilising thing - we are at 7 months and everything goes in his mouth so am seriously debating just washing them. His bowls, plates and spoons are sterilised so can't see the difference it would make.
I could probably get away with it when we start at creche cos I'll only be giving him bedtime bottle - creche have their own bottles that they sterilise but I'll probably send him in with his own and they will make them up as and when so no worries about bacteria.

Am loving the penpal idea - anyone wanna be my penpal? :D Problem is you all now everything there is to know! :rotfl:

Jack is wide awake *rolleyes* but he's sooooooooooo tired!

I can't believe that you are still sterilising his eating stuff!!! I gave you a week!!! I do dummies every so often but that is it other than bottles.

Have you tried 'I knew an old woman who swallowed a fly' ?

10yr old girl with attitude, sporty and far too clever. 6yr old boy who's writing is getting there but not the best so maybe a good idea for him. He loves football, swimming and 'old stuff' (history).
Too many children, too little time!!!

SS, that chair fabric is awesome. My aunt is a flamingo fanatic and would probably pay you hundred of dollars for it. She has a flamingo CHRISTMAS TREE (I am not kidding, I have seen it), flamingo hats, flamingo CURTAINS in the basement and various other flamingo paraphenalia around their gigantic house. She's looney :rotfl:

I think we sterilised Finn's dummy when we first bought it and never since, oops...:o I also only sterilise my pump every few days, but it gets hot soapy washes in between. Not sure why I bother as he won't take the damn bottles anyways, grrrrrrr.

    Hola!
Elle my HV said after 6mths just sterilise things that milk will me stored in and do dummies once a week-ish that's what I followed as it made sense to me :)
I washed Chris's bottles in the dish washer past 1yr and made is bottle fresh (half formula half moo milk)

My MIL still has a penpal her mum and ppal's mum were ppals originally, since I left work I only really right shopping lists, my bad handwriting is now abysmal!

Som - Ed is quite sensitive to what I eat, I find the worst offenders are onion, grapes, orange juice, any juice that is from concentrate and takeaways particularly kfc
The very best is sometimes what nature gives us for free.
