That's a bit annoying Mummy. I am putting my PADs in a jar and going to pay off part of the loan at the end of each month. It's the only way I can do it as I can't pay anything to the loan at the bank  I will have to send a cheque each month. There must be an easier way than that. Will ask next time I am there since they have changed their systems and so might be able to do that now.

I'm actually quite mean when I do have money :o I don't want to spend it and I am getting quite annoyed when I keep thinking of things I have to buy this month

I hardly every drink. I get really bad hangovers. I think I have a drink about 4 times a year and one of those is Christmas (and another one was last Saturday night for Mr Gap's daughter's birthday!) At least you will wake up feeling fine tomorrow :)

    Morning diary,

Well I did end up spending £5 on a bottle of wine yesterday to take along to my friends baby shower as another friend offered to drive. It was so nice to chill out, have a nice drink and a good laugh with lovely company :).

Just made the payments for the month and updated my signature accordingly :T. I got a little giddy and started adding in next months payments too and we will be over 25% after next month. Dont want to wish this month away though, got loads of nice things to do.

GAP, im not really much of a drinker either, might have the odd glass and a few nights out over the year. I cant deal with hangovers and children :rotfl:!!! I think the PAD sounds good your way :T.

Well the weather is sooooo miserable here! Dont think il be watching the wedding  got too much to do plus il just watch the highlights on the news haha!!

Going to buy DD1 some new clothes today, really looking forward to it and so is she. Ive got a list of what she needs and im not going to go overboard and then if she needs extra bits il get them as and when.

Feeling really good right now. I think im the happiest ive felt in a long time and sadly it all revolves around money as I know today I can go out and buy DD some new things without having to use the credit card. I have thought to myself last week god if we didnt have all this debt we would be absolutely loaded now with me working full time but I suppose you just cant think like that.

Rightyho best check out the other diaries then do something!!

    Catch up soon x x x

It's great that you are feeling good right now Mummy. I feel the same way about the whole money thing. If I didn't have the debt I do, I would be loaded right now. Can't dwell on it though, I just keep thinking how good it will be when I am eventually debt free. No point in worrying about the past, I just use it to avoid the same mistakes in the future. I still kick myself about some things but then remember if I hadn't made the mistakes then I wouldn't know what I know now and believe me, I will not be making THOSE mistakes again!!! :D

    Have a good day.

Afternoon diary, back from our little shopping trip. Didnt go overboard like I said! Spent £33 in Asda and got DD1 some 3/4 length denim slough trousers, 7 tshirts, 3 shorts and them both new underwear and socks, so I dont think that was too bad.
£13 on new trainers and then my biggest extravagence was in Next surprise surprise! They needed some sandals for a wedding next week and so they cost me £21. We looked at Asda and Mothercare but both didnt have any suitable. The ones we got are soooo cute with a big pink flower on the front!! DD2 has been wearing hers all round the house, think il have to hide them until the wedding once I prize them off her .

Glad you think the same GAP. Im sure so many people in this situation think the same dont you!

Ooohhh did anyone else know cash machines give out £5 notes?! I didnt until this morning, it shocked me seeing £5 notes coming out the machine as I didnt know!!

Right catch up soon x x

I'm sure most people think and feel the same ;)

I knew there was talk of cash machines giving out £5 notes again like they used to but I didn't know it had actually started again. That will be really handy for when I have £6.24 left at the end of the month. Saves going to the bank counter to withdraw it :o

It's funny how when we have the money we don't go as mad as we had planned when we didn't have it. Good that you got DD the things that she needs. I need a shopping trip too soon (for Little Miss, not me). Will wait until CSA money comes through at the start of next month.

Have a nice day today. The sun is shining here, hope it is for you too :)

    Hi Mummytogirls

So glad that you're feeling happier than you have for a long time, it feels good to pay cash for items and waiting for them makes you appreciate them as well. Mr A are great for kids clothes, most of the time they have lovely things and they always wash nicely as well and of course don't cost a small fortune.

I've never been to a baby shower either - another American tradition thats arrived over here.

The sandals sound really cute, my DD loves girly, flowery things as well.

    Have a good weekend xx

    Good Afternoon diary!

Well you will be pleased to know the happy mummytogirls is still here :D. Had an absolutely fabulous weekend with my little family. Weve returned from an absolutely gorgeous Sunday lunch, not very MSE but its not something we do every week. I felt so relaxed sat in this lovely country pub as did DH. The kids were well behaved which is always a bonus isnt it!!

Been and spent the weekly shopping budget this morning between Mr M's and the local farmshop. Next week should be lower as weve now stocked back up on chicken, mince, sausages etc from the farmshop. Mr M's had some jars on offer so they should come in handy next week too. Im going to have to revisit the shopping budget now ive got my dad staying with us. Will see how we go on this month and then see how much by. Maybe another £10 a week should do it but il see how I get on first. He is giving us £30 a week to stay so we are going to try and keep that separate.

Still got half a tank of petrol and £60 left in the budget for that so that should last. DH is going to start cycling more so hopefully that should cut down on petrol too.

I cant believe its the 1st of May already, this year is marching on so fast!!

Waving hi to everyone, hope your all ok x x x

Morning diary, lovely sunny day here today and so the washing machine is nearly finished with my first load ready to hang out.

DH is downstairs cleaning away so im going to leave him to it! Hes on a roll and this happens about once a year so let him get on with it :rotfl:!!

Nothing much planned for my last day off. Think il pop to the garden centre and pick up some plants for my hanging basket and just potter round the garden later on.

Roast beef for tea and then ive some chicken to cook for sandwiches too. Might make some jelly with the girls for their puddings in the week.

Right I think thats about it from me. Off to get in the shower.

Happy Bank Holiday Monday everyone :) xx
