Mummytogirls - 100 years to be debtfree - I think not!

Morning Diary,
Well my lazing round Friday night certainly helped me recoup!
Yesterday we were up and out early shopping for MIL's birthday present (its a special birthday) we bought her a pandora charm. Plus a few other bits for a party the girls have today.
In the afternoon I went over to a friends housewarming party. I drove so it didn't cost me anything but I still got to catch up with everyone... win win id say!
Today had a bit more of a lie in.. 8am! DF0D I know you're thinking this would feel like a lunch time lie in for you!!! Got up and cracked straight on with a mountain of ironing which comes from saving all your washing up for a nice day! DH actually cleaned the bathrooms whilst I was ironing! He hasnt picked up the bathroom cleaner in who knows how long so I was pleased.. my talk about struggling to keep up obviously was taken notice of for once.
Ive just put the bedding in, its apparently going to brighten up later on so will peg out and then save my pinks for tomorrow which can be popped outside over the airer.
So weve got DD2s swimming lesson this afternoon and then they've got a party. Nothing planned for tea so will probably grab something from Mr T's express on the way back.
Ive just been going through my diary and every day this week has been a spend day which is pretty appalling really. Tomorrow WILL be NSD8, that will probably be it for the month as my shopping will be coming Tuesday and Wednesday I need to get some bits for MIL's birthday tea I'm cooking Thursday. Really must try harder for October.
DH had a bit of a paddy yesterday over the amount of money he has each month and that he's sick of debt blah blah blah. Whilst I'm thinking weve had a good year, nice holiday, new car with old one being on last legs.. he's thinking of what he hasnt got! He really annoyed me as one week he's saying oh f**k it lets spend, next week he's whinging about oh lets just get a loan to pay it all off as to him that feels better. I really hate it when he gets like that but I think he's snapped out of it for today. At the minute everything is on 0% and it also gives us the flexibility of paying less one month if something comes up. Never happy some people!
Think thats all from me. Hope all ok xxMummytogirls x0 -
That's practically the afternoon, can't believe you are in bed lazing the whooooollllleeee day away! :rotfl:
I think it's hard when the whole debt thing takes times, and you do get disheartened.. but the thing is you are making progress.. Problem is you can't then just spend when it's all gone as you'll end up back where you were. How much did you start off with and where are you now MTG? I can't see your signature.
My DH has moments like that, but when he sees the bigger picture and knows he can retire 5 years earlier if we do this, then he soon gets back on board.DFW (08/08) £64,346.53 Gone (02/19)

Afternoon Diary,
Monday... done! Actually feeling quite alive for a Monday too haha!!! Just on with tea and waiting for DH to come home.. pasta bake tonight.
I have just done the shopping with Mr S to come tomorrow (had £15 off so made sense). Its quite a big shop as I've got DH's family round for tea on Thursday for MIL birthday (I really don't make like easy for myself at all).
Oh I know DF0D how lazy of us :rotfl:!!! We started off with £23164 and now were at just over £11800.. it has taken us 6 years to get to this point though. We could have probably paid it off by now really but weve slacked off several times!
Thats about all from me really. Really need today to be a NSD(8) but I need some change for girls breakfast club tomorrow and if DH doesnt have any in his wallet I'm going to have to bite the bullet! Haven't got a single penny in my purse so can't even send the with some to get changed!!
Best get the garlic bread in! Hope all ok xxMummytogirls x0 -
Evening Diary,
Just cooking tea so having a quick catch up. We were supposed to be out tonight for my mum birthday but going tomorrow now cos she's not been well. So tomorrows tea is now tonights... garlic chicken, roast potatoes, carrots, broccoli and peas.
Quite a spendy day today:
£9.30 in the butchers
£2 on the kids an ice cream to soften the blow about the meal as they were really looking forward to it!
£68 Mr S
£5 on 2 days lunches at work
In other news its really brightened up here and so the clothes that were on my airer are now blowing around on the line, a few from yesterday didn't dry properly. I do find this when its not as warm.
Thats about all from me. Mega busy day at work tomorrow... have a meeting first thing followed by nursery visits.
Hope all ok xxMummytogirls x0 -

Hi ya all sounding good apart from mini tantrum, why do dh forgot they were also part of the debt so should be part of the paying back. Mine is great 99% of the time but then moans about having no money despite me saying constantly that 'if we stuck to the budget......!'.
Hope your Mum is feeling better and family is well.

Evening Diary,
Wow im shattered, had a really busy 2 days and will be glad at 2.30 tomorrow afternoon.
Yesterday had a mental day at work and then I went straight to the kids school for a meeting. Then took the girls to gymnastics, back home to make the bolognaise for tonights lasagne (always tastes better day after), get ready and out for mums meal. Had a lovely meal and was nice to see all the family together. I don't think weve ever all been out before (there was 17 of us altogether!). Got home at 9pm, basically got kids to bed and then ended up in bed ourselves!
Today was pretty much the same! Went to work, straight to farmshop after work £15 spent in there, picked kids up, home to cook lasagne and curry for MIL and family we had over for her birthday tonight. It was very nice if I do say so myself. I have just sat down actually in the bed! So tired!! I really don't make life easier for myself but hey ho.
Thanks Alice and Chrysalis... men who'd have them!!!
Thats about all from me! Hope all ok xxMummytogirls x0 -
Only 3 weeks until half term! Kids were chatting about Halloween and Smyths catalouge arrived yesterday so they were planning Xmas presents!
Dare I say we'll miss all this in a few years time.

Afternoon Diary,
OMG what a day I'm absolutely shattered. So much going on at work my colleague was crying today saying she thinks she's gonna have a nervous breakdown as the workload is just too much. She says I cope well.... I would say its more I hide my stress well . I just could not wait to get home and then the kids are sulking about various things... I would like to hide in a darkened room right now!
Just sat down and done a few bits on my laptop which needed doing.. currently on hold to V@x about my steam cleaner which has never worked properly but I always forget to ring them.
Having a KFC (HM) for tea once I've done on the phone. Its been glorious today and I wish I had done some washing but when I think back to yesterday when could I possibly have done any!! After id posted yesterday I think I fell straight to sleep, DH fell asleep in his work clothes.. is this the life seriously?! I remember waking up thinking the heating was on as I was boiling... turns out id fallen asleep in my dressing gown :rotfl:
Just finished on the phone with V@x had a right jobsworth! It had better work now or else I swear il be ringing back.
Chrysalis, weve recently had that catalogue through too!!! I agree, it will be sad when they're grown up and were pottering round with nothing to do!!!
DF0D, can't even think about half term activities yet!!! Hope the weather is this nice though.
Right id best go get on with tea. So in need of a day in tomorrow.. hope I get it!!! xxMummytogirls x0
