couple weeks ago a vodafone employee posted this in reference to this change on another thread for the same reason

    Hi there,
    .

If you'd like me to look into this, please email us through https://www.vodafone.co.uk/contactus. If you put FIT135 into the main body of the email, it will be routed to the most suitable person.

    I hope this helps.
If I helped or saved you money - Thank me
If I helped you spend some money - spank me
    If I done both - :lipsrseal me:eek:
    :D

I've been doing quite a lot of investigating of this problem. I thought i'd posted my findings here but obviously hadn't.

The problem is that this change has been preapproved by OfCom. This is because OfCom don't regulate anything other than the minutes. So as we know the vod T&Cs say that they are entitled to increase charges by 10% but as far as OfCom are concerned this only applies to the minutes.

If vod asked OfCom if they could increase their charges by 9% and also commit murder this would be aproved too. But that doesn't make it legal.

Regarless of 8a be included in the T&Cs because of the OfCom regulation it is there and applies to the whole contract.

This is therefor a Trading standards issue and i would urge people to contact them via http://www.consumerdirect.gov.uk/ on 08454 04 05 06
  • has anyone got any updates on this? how are people getting on with getting out of their vodafone contracts due to their poor restructuring of price plans?
  • Well afetr several weeks and several phone calls....

    BINGO !

Provided my PAC and waived the "exit" fee 8 months into an 18 months contract..... but get this.

They refused to admit that what they had done was wrong, but claimed they were releasing me under the clause that states they have to address any matters in writing within 7 days.

Still alls well.... W900 on eBay and I'm off to T-Mobile for that Flex-T thingy with proper value browsing.
