It's not the try me bundles that are changing, it's the value packs that are changing.
Here is the official Voda page about it but there is no mention of Data
I am disappointed in the changes and want to see a way out of my contract as MMS was a nice option to have even if I didn't use it that much!we increase in the United Kingdom and under clause 7a, call or other usage charges which have the effect of increasing your call or other usage charges by more than 10% or the increase in RPI calculated as in 8a above (which ever is the greater) based upon your previous call or usage pattern
Previous useage costs for a MMS was nill - now it's chargeable - that's more than 10% surely?I'm Not A Dog But I May Be Mad0 -
Based on usage, so if you sent MMS before, that should be a yes0

Someone on WM forums has spoken to Voda and apparently data is being removed from the bundles too - I'm not impressed at all!I'm Not A Dog But I May Be Mad0

can i have a link to WM forums thanks.
i have just spoken to V and they are bringing out new packages on the 1st of sept which will include mms.
this a total bloody con.
i have 4 contracts 2 with a 1000 and 2 with 250 text messages.
there attiude is the pack have only ever been call text packs so we have been lucky uptill now LOL.
i think this issue should should be pursued by those it concerns.
i myself will not let this drop.
they state that this will not constitute an increase as the package itself will not be increasing.
so you wont be able to cancel your contract under the clauses in previous posts.
hopefully someone here with more knowledge than myself will look further into this.   :mad:0 -
Spoke to assistant at Vodafone store in town on Saturday and he knew about the change but no no idea why. He just said if I wanted more info I should ring 191 and ask them!
He did suggest that more new packages would be announced soon for data, mms and text but he had no idea what they would be and what they would cost. I assume they will be in place before 1st September!0 -
Ragjoy - I assume it's ok for me to post the link to another forum

It's all under the vodafone sectionI'm Not A Dog But I May Be Mad0 -
We need a little help here from just general Consumer experts.
Basically,as far as I understand it, just because there is a clause in a signed contract doesn't mean it is enforcable under the law.
No contract can effectively "sign away" your basic rights as a consumer.
We have agreed a price for a service and signed on that basis. How can they then go back on that. That entire clause would make a mockery of us signing a contract in the first place. They could effectively double the price 10 days into an 18 month contract. We must have some protection against that surely ?0 -

It doesn't have to relate to the package price...
Here's the important part i/ of Clause 8a... Ending your agreement.i) we increase in the United Kingdom and under clause 7a, call or other usage charges which have the effect of increasing your call or other usage charges by more than 10% or the increase in RPI calculated as in 8a above (which ever is the greater) based upon your previous call or usage pattern;0 -
OK.... heres the basic result of a couple of phone calls I made to Vodamoan yesterday.
.......
.....
.......
.......
Er..... nowt............
They aint budgin. Second call handler couldn't even get her head around the idea that them removing a "free" offer from my package might now result an increase in costs to me. She was well aware of the clause that allowed them to adjust the package, but blindingly oblivious to the clause which limited its impact on me.
She then said that for "high users" like myself, (I've only got a £25/month contract) they would be offering a 50% discount on new MMS/Data bundle packages that were being launched 1st Sept.
Anyway... from being a minor irratance that they could have sorted out easily (I'm not looking to escape from my contract, I just want what we agreed) Its now become a matter of principle.
Letters will now be going out to both Vodamoan and a couple of consumer/trading groups.0 -

Keep us posted on your progress.
I'm in the same boat - My PAC is on the way, and I will be sending my cancellation letter and telling them that I am cancelling without any further charges under 8a in their T&Cs. Bit of a slow process though - was told my PAC would be posted out and with me in 6 days! Seems a bit backwards for a mobile phone network - I'm sure other networks send the PAC by the miracle of text message!0
