That is a fantastic bargain. I've had the ip4200 for a while and its a superb printer, especially for photos. I've just paid £37 for a complete set of original cartridges so £35 for a new printer is superb. I'm almost tempted to buy another ip4200 just for the carts.

Does anyone know if it's any better/worse than the 4200? And cartridge-wise?
    Apparently it has wireless connectivity...

Do you get a full set of ink with this one then? most new printers only come with cartridges that are about a third full. If you get a full set, then it,s a mega bargain

    Hi,

6210d uses cartridges (£22 a pop) instead of individual colour tanks.

Resolution (colour) is 4 times lower DPI than 4200.

Pixmanial are sellin 4200 for £56.

6210d DOES read camera sticks though.

The original printer came with full carts. In fact they are only just about to run out now. It was bought from Pixmania though which is in France. Pehaps the Europeans don't put up with half empty carts?

The 6210 is aimed at a different market to the 4200. The 6210 uses 5 inks and has memory card slots for printing directly from media. The wireless connectivity is solely IRDA support for printing from mobiles, etc.

The 4200 uses 6 inks, has twice the resolution and supports printing to CD/DVD, but is slower.

    4200: 9,600 by 2,400 DPI.
    6210d: 4,800 by 1,200 DPI

FOUR times difference in colour resolution.

4200: Five single ink tanks, seperate head
6210d: two catridges - integrated printheads.
  • Any idea whether this is any better than an Epson Photo 900? I've had the epson a while but rarely print colour and the heads clog easily. Can you get compatibles for the canon?

It only uses 5 carts. B (for text) BCMY (for colour).

Anyway, I've just ordered another one :D
