Hi everyone, I've been lurking but not had time to post for a while. Everyone seems really positive at the moment which is nice.
I've been eating, drinking and sleeping my business idea and have finally got to the point where I am ready to go. Got my All Things Catty (to match my blog) business cards on Tuesday and was so excited you would have thought I'd sold something already.
First things will be going on ebay on Saturday when I've got some time at home in the daylight to take decent pics, so I'll let you see what I'm doing at that point - but I think it is pretty obvious from the name what I'm planning
Paulabear, I would love to get one of your sulkies for my colleague at work - it would need auburn hair and to say "I hate Excel Sheets" as that is what she has been saying for the last week! Let me know how much you are thinking of selling them for.
Saucy - did you do a notebook with cats on at all? I remember you saying at one point that you were on to it, but may have missed something in all the posts. If not, no worries, but I'm really excited to see it if you have.
Nixi, hope you are feeling better today. Sounds like you have a lot on your plate at the moment hon. Hope it settles down soon and life gets back to normal for you.
MummyandPaige - oh my life, I'm sooo jealous about all those books. I always said when I was little that my dream was to have a house with one of those big old libraries where the bookcases went right up to the ceiling. (Think Highlander with that big round room he had in his house - does anyone know what I'm talking about here??)
Everyone else - hello :jI shall call him Squishy and he shall be mine and he shall be my Squishy.0 -
Thanks every1.
My idea which I will share when I can get round to describing it would be very local and practical. and would need to employ someone as their would be frequent times when I just couldn't be available at the required times. Plus it just wouldn't keep me interested for long enough.
I really just need to work out what I can do that is more ME if that makes sense.
Guess I am just not really sure what I am good at that I could use in a way that could generate money.
Probably a bit of being that time of month and having belly ache!!

Joey - Know exactly what you mean, I used to have that dream too, however, my house definately does NOT look like that, think more, warehouse, boxes everywhere!
dum di dum
hhhonlyfan - banks will credit check you first, and if it is a business, they will usually want a cash match guarentee or some sort of security deposit. The link on the first page for foundation east is a way of getting around the credit checks, but it comes with a higher interest rate. My suggestion would be to see if you could find a similar place in your area. As long as your business plan is sound, they will secure the loan to your stock/shop. Good idea though. Also boffers are currently looking for people to do trial runs for their credit accounts, if you were serious, then mybe applying would be a good idea.
Lastly, Jo - I know what you mean, I am currently drifting between things until big idea hits me, if you want to chat, pm me, I am more than happy to share my little ones to keep you busy until the big one hits you too!

Jo - kind of know what you mean, you need something that fits in with who you are and keeps your interest; hope you feel better soon, trying to think of a different way of thinking for you!
Toots, Nixi and Mambury, thank you!! Am all happy now:):)
Joey, was estimating £8 for one like the picture shows or £4.50 for a keyring.
It's made from polymer clay and once varnished seems pretty hardy, I sewed a button onto DD1's cardigan and it's survived two (hand cycle) washes and a fair bit of bumping with no visible wear. I'd need to know what length hair and rough style as well as whether you'd like the writing on a little sign she could hold or maybe on her top? Also completely agree about the library, my dream is to have one so big I need those ladders on wheels like in Bedknobs and Broomsticks!
Can't believe the great response to the Sulkies, you lot are amazing!I have come here to chew bubblegum and kick @ss.... and I'm all out of bubblegum.0 -
Thanks Mummyand Paige, that's really kind. May be the weekend before I PM you as its a bit hard to get much thinking space here at the moment. Manage to get time to read this thread and respond to it but proper headspace is a bit harder!!
seems like your books is a fairly big idea at least in the physical sense;)
