hhhonlyfan, i said pm me your email address so I can forward the email to you, it will explain, I am not typing out the entire email to you as it would take me ages. Think Mambury offered it out too.
Toots - Rudyard Kipings old house has his library still in tact, unfortunately not allowed to touch them eitherit is heaven though!
The world has gone mad! Listing the books and I have an entire book devoted to Labradors that only has 2 pics in it, how someone can write that many words on one species of dog, I don't know, that is going for £4.50 plus post on Amazon, and an absolutely lovely encyclopedia of impressionists that is full of gorgeous colour pictures that anyone would have a field day framing or scapbooking, that is going to cost a fortune ot send, it is that heavy, and it is going for £1!!! Grrrr, really getting tedious now!turn £100 into £10000 in 2010 member #16 £567.68/£10,000 -I'm a wiggly worm, I'm a wiggly worm, how do you do, I love you, I'm wiggly worm!0 -
nixi, I'd just played too long I think. I only started October/November time, and I hadn't played at all for about 5 or 6 weeks until my lesson last Saturday (Christmas, sick kid and general lack of motivation kept me away). Then I had a new reed that just wouldn't play the game - it kept sticking to the mouthpiece no matter how I positioned it, so I spent a good 15-20 minutes trying it, swearing, adjusting it, trying it, swearing.... before I gave up and put another new reed on which was ok. So by the time I'd done my practice on top of all that my lip was tired. It goes more sort of tired and numb rather than sore, I guess. I'd got to the stage before Christmas when I could play for longer, but I'm pretty much back to square one now. But on the plus side, I worked out the rhythm on a piece I've been all wrong on up to now, so a minor step forward.
I've been playing with shrink plastic this evening (OK so I got sidetracked from my tidying up....) continuing my aim of using up existing stash. I have got a few nice little charms out of it, and more to cut out and shrink. I've got a little black shrink plastic too, but no idea what to do with that - may have to have a trawl for ideas round the web and see if inspiration strikes.0 -
Glad to hear that Cally- it's much easier when both of you are on the same path!
Hoping my crystals will turn up tomorrow as want to get on with my new stuff!0 -
no, I guess you aint never been reading on the Debt Free Wannabee forums, lightbulb moment is when someone finally realises and admits they are having problems with debts and asks for help
edit - thanks mabel x0 -
I know Cally, I was joking, OH hasa serious spending prob, so all of his wages go into my bank account and I only give him money if he can justify it to me (usually the answer is NO!)
He is never going to hve a lightbulb moment, so I have done it for him!turn £100 into £10000 in 2010 member #16 £567.68/£10,000 -I'm a wiggly worm, I'm a wiggly worm, how do you do, I love you, I'm wiggly worm!0 -

Ah, sorry I thought you were saying he had seen the light and set you free with his cc.
Has anyone had a go at felting at all? I've been looking at a few things that I'd like to make, but wondering if it's one of those things that takes a bit of practice or if it's dead easy.:jI shall call him Squishy and he shall be mine and he shall be my Squishy.0 -
Do you mean machine wash type felting where you knit or crochet something and then wash it hot to felt it, or needle felting? Actually, whichever you mean, the answer is yes LOL. I made a felted handbag a couple of years ago, which was ok, but a lot of wool is machine washable nowadays so you don't get that "washed too hot" effect as well as you really want. And needle felting was waaaaaaay too much like hard work.
If you mean needle felting I have the needles and wool tops somewhere that I can send you - doubt I'll ever use them again. (Did I already mention that I have tried most everything crafty at one time or another.....?0 -
Jo - kind of know what you mean, you need something that fits in with who you are and keeps your interest; hope you feel better soon, trying to think of a different way of thinking for you!
Toots, Nixi and Mambury, thank you!! Am all happy now:):)
Joey, was estimating £8 for one like the picture shows or £4.50 for a keyring.
It's made from polymer clay and once varnished seems pretty hardy, I sewed a button onto DD1's cardigan and it's survived two (hand cycle) washes and a fair bit of bumping with no visible wear. I'd need to know what length hair and rough style as well as whether you'd like the writing on a little sign she could hold or maybe on her top? Also completely agree about the library, my dream is to have one so big I need those ladders on wheels like in Bedknobs and Broomsticks!
Can't believe the great response to the Sulkies, you lot are amazing!nixi, I'd just played too long I think. Before you put your reed on your mouthpiece are you wetting it? Before I play I aways suck my reed for about a min, longer if it is a new one, it helps soften them, Sorry if you are already doing this......trying to help
Can't help witht the plastic sorry!Life is a work in progress0 -
Yes, I'm wetting it. That was the problem with the first one - if I wet it, it sort of clung to the mouthpiece and I got a godawful squawk. The second one was ok though, so no idea what was wrong with the first. Just a duff reed maybe. I'll be so much more inclined to practice when DD gets her new mouthpiece and I don't have to swap reeds every time I want to play.0
