Do you mean machine wash type felting where you knit or crochet something and then wash it hot to felt it, or needle felting? Actually, whichever you mean, the answer is yes LOL. I made a felted handbag a couple of years ago, which was ok, but a lot of wool is machine washable nowadays so you don't get that "washed too hot" effect as well as you really want. And needle felting was waaaaaaay too much like hard work.

If you mean needle felting I have the needles and wool tops somewhere that I can send you - doubt I'll ever use them again. (Did I already mention that I have tried most everything crafty at one time or another.....?

I meant the machine wash type - what is needle felting?

Not exactly pretty, but impressive all the same!

Hmm not seen a needle felted art doll before! I was wondering earlier whether the patterns I have for art dolls are ok for commercial use (and so whether I could finish off my two incomplete art dolls and pop them on Folksy too). Mind you, I am rather attached to them. But maybe I could do some others and not get as attached. If it's allowed. Or I could do my own pattern. Aaargh - I just need 36 hours in every day. If I could sort that, I'd be ok.

Yes, as I say, just watch out because a lot of the wool yarns are actually machine washable these days, which cuts down on your felting possibilities. Another suggestion is to buy 100% wool jumpers from charity shops (which people pass on because you can't machine wash them and they are a PITA), felt them in the machine and then use the resulting felt to make stuff.

Elly, I just kind of make them up, got a book out from the library with some seriously horrible designs for characters but it had good advice on blending colours and other bits. Have made a mini Sulkie in about an hour so will no doubt get quicker as I'm going to make the body design generic (unless personalised). My dad's coming up tomorrow with his camera (which is better than ours!) so will get photos done and loaded onto Folksy by the end of tomorrow hopefully! Toots, thanks, I haven't bothered to work out cost/time etc, just priced them at what I think I'd pay for them. 2cats, it's really interesting seeing what crafts you've been doing!
I have come here to chew bubblegum and kick @ss.... and I'm all out of bubblegum.
