Hi all :) I hope you are all well, I've been out of the loop a bit, what with work and home being very busy!

    Happy birthday Dazi :)
nic1lou2 - I've met Raymond Blanc at his resturant down here, he's lovely. I was absolutely gob-smacked when he came out of the kitchen and circulated round the diners. My ex didn't know who he was, so was really confused as to why I could only stutter a few words out!

All is well here, I'm currently stuck indoors waiting for a delivery that is supposed to be here by now - it's a cake stand for my friends wedding cake - I have been very buried under sugar flowers for the past month! My sponsors have been circulating at work so I have been run off my feet there too!
Things have settled down at home, my sister is doing really well, has filed for divorce and is putting her life back together. I am so proud of her and the way she is coping - she is starting to return to the person she really is.
OH has his decree nisi and the judge that pronounced it removed my name from it, so all is good there! :rotfl::rotfl:Have heard nothing from his ex too which is always a plus.
I am buried under plastic cupcakes with my folksy shop :)
OSwise, I have eaten junk food for the past two months and my flat is a tip, although I have cleared up a bit whilst waiting for the delivery and finished the laundry. OH started his new job yesterday and the house is full of work paranephailia from his old one. He's got a 4 year contract - which is amazing in this place, so we are very stable now for quite some time.

I never want to eat or see fruit cake again (I say that every time!). Nor should I touch the German pear schnapps I am soaking everything in any more. I'm a very Floydian cook :D

I am currently hand painting a set of Russian dolls and working on a large art comission (more cupcakes!) in my spare time. We are off to Germany next week to see the out-laws (OH's mum is 70) and to Iceland in a few months (when I've sorted out my passport - needs renewing soon).

Good luck for everyone sitting exams! I'm always amazed at how fast this session comes round each year! cel x

    Afternoon everyone.

Phew this is my first proper sit down all day. Been out in the garden with the kids and managed to do some cutting back and general tidying up out there. Lots of new shoots appearing so hopefully spring on it's way :j Just cleaned out the sandpit and washed everything down. New clean sand in there for the kids to play with :D Back is complaining now though from all the bending - 25kg sack of sand is a wee bit heavy
My mum bless her has come round and done my upstairs cleaning. At the moment I just don't get chance so it's a big help to me :D
Tea tonight was going to be chicken biryani from EG BUT H just text to say he's surrounded by food as there was a cancelled meeting so no doubt he'll be chuffing his way through lots of sandwiches and won't want anything heavy for tea.

Was going to make biscuits with the kids this morning but due to the GORGEOUS sunshine we went out in the garden instead. Birds are feeding like mad and I've run out of bird seed now so will have to pick some more up for them.

Schumie - hugs to you. Hope you can find a way of dealing with the stress xx

PenPen and Hart - good luck to your kids and their maths exams. Good luck to anyone elses who have exams aswell :D

Julie - I know how scary it is to lose your wage. When I resigned from my old job I wasn't earning anything for 6 months and then after that it was only £30 a week  I never thought we'd be able to survive on my H's wages but we did, with a little bit of help from our little bit of savings. Hope you find a way of earning something in the future xx

JC - I can't believe the court system. The CPS are a joke - I can't believe they are pushing ahead with this on the basis of one persons statement. Hope they get ripped to shreds when giving evidence :(

Cheeseaddict - welcome to the thread :j

Flutterby - hope you enjoy Brecon

Jayward - Hugs to you and lots of positive vibes going your way xx

Sandy - Hugs to you xx We Put our kitty's ashes under a particular bush she always loved to sleep under during the summer. Now known forever as Bluebells bush (I didn't name her - a 6 year old did ;))

Celyn - Wow you sound busy busy. Nice to have you back posting :D

Apologies to anyone else I've missed.
Hugs to those that need them. Have a good afternoon OS or not.

    Afternoon. folks.

    Happy Birthday Dazi.

Best of luck to all taking exams around now.

Get-well wishes for all not in the best of health just now.

(((HUGS)))) for all who want/need one, and a special (((HUG))) for Rabbit. I know all about exes keeping things they're not entitled to.

Not a lot to report from the Wolf's Lair today; we have bangers'n'root veggies tonight for dins, and Mr LW has already prepped the roots and left them in a bowl of salt water so that I can get started without risking taking my fingers off.:A

We didn't bother going to Mensa last night - didn't feel up to it myself, and Mr LW wasn't all that fussed.

I'm sure there's a task we're meant to tackle tonight, but I can't for the life of me remember what it is. Answers on a postcard please......:D

lowesey - thats where we are going in Lanzarote. Any tips?

No real tips Ladyshopper. There's not a great deal in Teguise from what we could see, but we did play a couple of slot machines in the arcade when the weather was pants one day! What hotel are you staying in? Are you going with Thomson or similar?

Must admit that we didn't do any of the trips that we could have, but then it wasn't that sort of holiday. Very much just laying in the sun and recovering rather than getting up and doing :p We did go rock-pooling though one day which was fab - can you believe that my 46 year old DH had never been rock-pooling before we met?!

We're going to the H10 Lanzarote Gardens. Really good reviews on trip advisor especially for the kids club, so hopefully they'll disappear off to that and I can lie on a sunlounger and read for 7 days - my idea of bliss!!

Will definitely go rock -pooling though, kids enjoy that. I've booked with low cost holidays, brilliant price for school hols (less than£1400 for 3 of us all inclusive), not sure who flights are with yet as it says tba!

Google banana and chocolate cake so have tried a Nigella recipe. The good thing about bananas is I can't stand them, so its the one thing I can bake with absolutely no temptation to eat!

Kids are going on a hike with scouts tonight, so they can take a big chunk as a snack to keep them going!

Ok off to put my lame lamb in the oven :D
  • Good afternoon,

Another lovely day here. It's great to be able to have the windows open to get a bit of fresh air through the flat. Went for a walk this morning, came home and have been working since. Just having a coffee break.

No idea what's for dinner. Will have a root around in the freezer but am feeling totally uninspired.

Rabbit 8587- hugs to you. Have been there, hope you get things sorted.

Schumie - hope you feel better - take care of yourself

    Happy birthday Dazi.

Good exam vibes going out and hugs to those who want or need them.

Pay day on Thursday so am going to look at online sales at Debenhams, Dotty P's and Tesco as I could do with some new clothes.

    Hugs all
