After spending the last 2 days reading this thread, I have only got to around the 2000th post. I'm really curious to know how far you have now got Mouseann?
Well done for coming on here in the first place and getting your life back - if only life reflected this forum for friendships. You have all built up a really great rapport on here and it is lovely to read, but I really can't spend any more time reading it all (I'm usually too busy doing the comps on the competitions forum - addicted really - and I have gotten behind on there).
and, as for NID he is truly one of the most selfless (never used that word before but it is so appropriate) people I have heard about.
I've subscribed to the thread to make sure I keep up to date on what is happening, and hope you don't mind if I pop in now and again

    Hi fundire,

As Niddy has already said, welcome to the thread!

Hope you feel able to join in the discussions and don't mind the trivial stuf about our daily routines! Live does go on - even if it can be dead boring at times!

    Hi Amersall,

    Welcome to the thread!

And to nick that well-worn phrase - you don't have to be mad to post on it - but it helps!

    Hello everyone,

Have just returned from a Car Boot sale - didn't buy anything but, by the looks of it, neither did anyone else!

Then the dog and I went for a lovely long walk. Not sure who is getting the fittest now - me or the dog!

In answer to your question, Moneypenny -

The iron is fixed! It looks like new - I tried George's suggestion and bought some waxed (greaseproof) paper which got rid of the plastic. Then I just used the general household cleaner to remove he bit from the sole plate - and it looks as good as new!

So, thanks to everyone for their help, support and suggestions. I think (to everyone's great relief) we can now officially close this topic!

Am now wondering whether I dare to use the Dyson before they come home ..... (the dog has only been in the living room three times!)

Hi Ann and welcome to all new friends on the thread. Just got back from Whitley Bay my son took me down for a plodge in the sea and an ice cream. It has a reputation as a party town and their are hundreds of young people hanging outside the pubs. Good business for the town but ooh i felt ancient.

Yes Ann the sea is cold up here but the sun is hot today we have lovely beaches. I prefer further up in Northumberland where it is more peaceful though. We are tough up here and can take it!!!!!!!
