Hi ann I have just had a phone call from these people. jd dr I answered the call but they hung up. I went on to 1471 and got their number. then went on to 1571 but they had not left a message. now this is where i get a telling off from the Nidster. I rang the number (nid tells us never to ring them )armed with me data protection act statement. the guy asked me for a reference I said I didnt get a reference as you hung up on me. I asked who he was and he answered From Jd debt collections. so i asked why he rang me he said that obviouly someone from that address he was ringing owed money. I said who do they owe money to he then said he needed a reference. I then asked him to remove my numbers from his database under section 7 of the data protection act He shouted at me and asked who do you think you are then hung up. I did not go through the security so it would not have been recorded but he did sound mad. I should have done things properly I know but I am not well and cant be bothered wth them today Hope nid doesnt kick off with me:(

    Hi all

    <<<<walks in sheepishly! :)

Thanks George and SW - it was out of interest but I didn't want to pm NID as I figured that he had more important things to do than answer a ramdom question about the whole thing and ok I could have gone back to his thread and discovered it by myself.

As for the interest paid on cards - I know exactly what you mean - I looked at mine and apart from about £400 spent around xmas, the debt was just going up and up because of the interest.

I know banks want to make money etc, but the rates are just silly - you would have thought that they would lower them to get more business as the amount of people on sites like this who are clearing them is just growing as we are sick of it.

Ann as for selling your house - if a new start is what you want and being closer to your family is good for you - then go for it.

This was the first thread that I read when I joined so I am interested in how it all turns out so will be lurking around

    xx

On my side of things I sent Nid a couple of pages of agreements that I received back form Egg & Citi in response to my cca requests.

No word back from Nid yet, so I am either a basket case beyond help, :(
Or maybe he is just too busy right now, so will wait and see what unfolds.

The one from Egg had a scan of my signature on it...so I may be on shaky ground with that one me thinks..:(
The one from Citi was nothing more than a list of terms & conditions..

But nevermind if I get too downcast with my own predicament, I just come here for a read and things don't seem so bad after all with everyone supporting each other...

    Keep well,

    Hiya

Sorry just finished dealing with emails (in 3 days I had 87!):eek:

I thought you sent me one lot of documents, so regards to my email the Egg is enforceable the Citi is not. With regards to citi send this: CCA Query - Terms & Conditions Supplied

Assuming you're happy and prepared to do what I suggested in my email, then send this to Egg:

By the way NID - my equifax report is showing all green at the moment!!!

So all your accounts are upto date then, you realise your credit file will be ruined if you follow this route? Just bear that in mind, i.e. no more credit for at least 6 years....?

    I'll check PM's later - promise :D

Aaaaw, don't worry i'm not going to make it worse for you - silly! Just remember (as I always say) - you need them to ring you and to take you through security, as things stand you have nothing or any proof that the idiot shouted at you! If you do find out who it is, let me have your details and i'll ring him back for you and shout at him, legally, and record it and PM you the message - watch him squirm..... :rotfl::rotfl:

Seriously though, do not ring them back - it is simply not worth the hassle. Idiots, I soooo hate them!:mad::mad::mad::mad:

    Hiya

Don't be sheepish - sorry for being abrupt before, I tried to explain myself here (#1985) but I am extremely passionate and I do spend hours fighting and arguing with people who do nothing but slag unenforceability off, thus to begin I did think that was your intention.

I'll apologise as it appears you're not out to cause bother, thankfully. Please, feel free to stay and enjoy what you see - its a fun thread.

    Hi Jinny,

Well done for standing your ground with them!

You do wonder what sort of training these sort of people get?

I was around, but I was so interested in the politics

    Hi Elsie,

I was glued to the telly as well - and today, seeing who is in the new cabinet. Wonder if this coalition will go the full 5 years?

I like elections and was hoping for another one sooner.

But I suppose we ought to start thinking about what the new government will do to the economy .....
