And besides the amount we pay back on interest more than covers the debt. I worked out yesterday that my current level of debt costs me £2k a year on interest!
You are right, Woowoo,
Daren't even work out what mind would have been over the last 15 years! Probaby would have paid off the National Debt. Evil grin!"What does not kill me makes me stronger". Frederich Nietzsche, 1844-1900.0 -
NID - Ann has been trying to persuade me to go for unenforceability.
I rent my home and don't have any other assets apart from my car, so my situation is different to hers.
I thought that I had 2 credit cards which were post 2007, with debts totalling £10000, but just realised that one might actually be from 2006. I have another credit card which was taken out in early 2007 but I have a copy of the agreement for that. I was trying to be good and get 0% and low life of balance transfers.I also have a loan which is enforceable and an overdraft of just under £2000. I have debts on other credit cards (including one from my bank) where I've had the cards for years and years but have made balance transfers on to them and used credit card cheques.
What do you think? My income is very erratic, which is partly why my debt situation has arisen.0 -

Hi Pixiechick
Please don't feel guilty, whilst we are responsible for spending the money the banks are definately guilty of irresponsible lending. I earn less than £20k per year and yet Lloyds thought a £10,800 credit card limit was suitable for me. Ridiculous. Obviously no-one forced me to spend up to my limit, but if I only had a £1k limit thats all I would have spent!
And besides the amount we pay back on interest more than covers the debt. I worked out yesterday that my current level of debt costs me £2k a year on interest!
Thank you woowoo and mouseann.
I have (or had until I said I couldn't make the minimum payment) another £27500 of 'available' credit including a credit limit of £15000 with Lloyds TSB! My debt at the moment stands around £27000 and my credit rating was excellent, even though I was robbing Peter to pay Paul. So the financial institutions definitely need to share the blame.0 -
Go for it Pixiechick, if you are already considering bankruptcy what do you have to lose.

Also I wrote to them asking for lowered payments and actually signed the letters because I didn't know any different at the time. Could they possibly use these signatures as has been suggested?0
