Morning Niddy,
I gather from that statement that the head can't be that bad this morning???
Morning Ann
I'm Scottish - we don't do hangovers hahah - Work tomorrow so must make the most of having time off
Plus i'm having a nice break from here, i.e. just chitter chatting, nothing serious going on (except two charging order threats over on my thread)! Eeeek.....
How are you? Hope everyone else is having a nice day?2010 - year of the troll

What a fascinating thread. Have spent the last 3 days (off and on) reading and managed most of it.
The change in mouseann's posts between the first and last is incredible.
Mouseann, sorry if you've answered this already, but how did you find this place and decide to post here? Ignore me if that's too nosy
I think it's sad that an elderly person has been given advice that would leave them scrimping and scraping and miserable for the rest of their life and still not have paid much off the debts anyway. I wonder how many are doing just that because they don't have anybody like Never-in-Doubt or GeorgeUK to come to their rescue?
Best wishes to mouseann and to those helping her - you are Angels:A:ALove the animals: God has given them the rudiments of thought and joy untroubled. Do not trouble their joy, don't harrass them, don't deprive them of their happiness.0 -

EEK - that sounds v. serious!
Nice to meet Mrs. Niddy - hope she keeps popping in to join discussions"What does not kill me makes me stronger". Frederich Nietzsche, 1844-1900.0 -
Morning everyone and well said George!!!!
I don't think that any of us who post on this thread are deliberatly trying to 'get out' of paying our debts, is just that it isn't possible to pay them. I feel terribly guilty and ashamed for considering bankruptcy, but I just can't see any other way (not even unenforceability).

They want it to be serious, we'll not let them get away with it - typical MBNA tactics, if they apply to the courts i'll get my mate 10past6 on the case to block it in it's tracks - ooooh, noooo - they will not take the michael with us guys
I think the Mrs liked it here last night so you may see here around, although I will probably be at the other end of the forum - she's a right slave driver you know! (running as fast as I can) :rotfl:2010 - year of the troll

Pixie why can you not consider UE? Have you got too many recent agreements?
Before B/R - we may have to speak, I *may* be able to help..... depends though.2010 - year of the troll

Thanks Thistledome,
No, not a nosy question at all!
I regularly listen to Martin Lewis on the Jeremy Vine show on Radio 2, and I heard him mention this website.
The rest, as you say, is history! Without Niddy and George I don't know I would have managed - plus, there is the added bonus of all of the other lovely people who offer their totally non-judgmental support.
It would be good to be able to use my own experience to help others but I think I am a long off being able to do this yet!"What does not kill me makes me stronger". Frederich Nietzsche, 1844-1900.0 -
Hi Pixiechick
Please don't feel guilty, whilst we are responsible for spending the money the banks are definately guilty of irresponsible lending. I earn less than £20k per year and yet Lloyds thought a £10,800 credit card limit was suitable for me. Ridiculous. Obviously no-one forced me to spend up to my limit, but if I only had a £1k limit thats all I would have spent!
And besides the amount we pay back on interest more than covers the debt. I worked out yesterday that my current level of debt costs me £2k a year on interest!LBM Aug 09: £18,650.47 - Current: £12,854.93 (£5946.79)
Barclays: £2,928.34 Lloyds: £2,499.60
MBNA: £3,788.99 Overdraft: £1,900.00 Mum: £1,738.00
Surveys: £6.60/£40.000 -
Hope you feel better soon Jinny and that everyone else is okay.
(Niddy has a slight headache... behind his left eye...)
George
You get way too serious late at night - you need a few beers mate :beer:
Very well constructed, you're right I am defensive and can be abrupt but then if someone is unsure, it's best to send a PM or at least think about the words they are about to use. Maybe I was harsh on Lilly, but it's the way I am when I see that bloody "L" word - you may as well shout Celtic at me then ask for help! Ermmm ok! :rotfl:
But fair point, we're all here to help which is all that matters, I just wish people would ask factual questions and not worry about idle gossip containing so called silly power-words such as "Loophole"! A loophole is when I stab someone and get let off for being insane! This is no loophole, it is, as you say - in black and white and written into the Act.2010 - year of the troll

Pixiechick,
Please please don't feel guilty and ashamed. A lot of us have been there and we do know how it feels.
Just keeping posting on here - we are all here for each other."What does not kill me makes me stronger". Frederich Nietzsche, 1844-1900.0
