Am off to bed myself in a minute.

But haven't been in the pub all day - I wish!

    Enjoy your days off, Niddy!

Thanks beanie, tt is nice to know.

Glad you like the new format. I had forgotten pictures (avi's to those of us in the know!!!! ahem) have disappeared.

Does anyone know Numpty Monkey? Do they eat lots of hobnobs and hug everyone if so, they could be my twin. They have nicest footer (dont know the technical term for it though).

You will mostly find Numpty Monkey lurking on the Notice to Newcomers thread - he's the one who often gets up at silly o clock to post the first good morning of the day. Currently I think he is staying with Wol helping her to juggle builders and guinea pigs (don't ask!!!)

    Good morning everyone.

Sounds like you had loads of fun last night while I was reminiscing with TOTP2 - the 80s.

About 9.30 I heard a strange noise and went to investigate - I had water coming through the ceiling in my utility room!!!
I tried to turn the stopcock off but couldn't because it was too tight, so I had to position buckets etc while I phoned the housing asscociation. A rather disgruntled plumber asked if I knew where the stopcock was - probably thought I was a silly woman who didn't know what to do!! When he eventually turned up (about an hour later) he had to use grips to turn it off, so it wasn't just me being a 'weak' woman!!! He couldn't find the leak (somewhere under the floorboards on my landing, so he said he'd come back today. So here I am, no water, can't have a shower or flush the loo, only enough in the kettle for 1 more cup of tea. It's a glorious day (unlike yesterday) and I want to take my dog for a nice long walk but I can't because I've to stay in and wait for the plumber. :(

Poor you Pixiechick. That sounds really stressful. Can you knock on the neighbour's door and ask for some water? You must have tea.

Sometimes you can ring the plumber and they will have an idea of what time they are coming, if you give them your mobile number they can ring you so you will be in the house by then.

    Good luck.

Thanks for the suggestion but I'm not sure if I'll be able to do that SW, because it's the housing association plumber. I'll give it an hour or so and then phone the association. The one good thing is that I won't have to pay for the repair.

Off to do some gardening and enjoy the sunshine while it lasts.
