Haha. I've never heard of mere 1p price increases, though: so Poundfiftyland is more likely!
We had a poundstore(or poundshop I can't remember exactly) for years and then a Poundland shop moved in next door and opened in a blaze of publicity(well they took out an ad in the local paper) and then within a matter of days the poundstore changed name to the '99p' store. So it shows you how consumers are benefitting from market forces ;)

If you dress dodgy then you must expect to be traeted that way. I have never been mugged because I look like a mugger.

Not the most of constructive of comments, but if you want to really wind them up in Poundland ...

Get your basket ... fill it up completely ... then go to the till and upon taking out each item ask 'How much is this please?' ... then say 'Sorry too expensive' and leave it for them to put back ... Juvenile I know but they have been too!
    Gone ... or have I?
  • I sometimes get followed by security guards, I too take them on long strolls around shops - i always say things like "i'm going over there now if you're coming" I enjoy doing that! LOL

If I had been the OP and the guard had said that to me I would have spent at least two hours in there hovering and picking things up then putting them back down again before walking out with a smug smirk on my face!!
:D I understand ALOT more than I care to let on :D
  • I always used to get followed when I was younger but find it rarely happens now. In fact, I seem to think that a lot of stores no longer have security guards anymore. Most of the security is often done from the control room via cctv.

When I was younger and being followed, I used to keep walking round the same areas over and over just watching the guard following me. I then sped up somewhat walking faster and faster until I was behind the guard thus following him! Only once was I challenged and when I was asked what I was doing, replied "I thought it was a game - we had to follow an inncoent person around the store". No bother after that.
