No buying toiletries in March challenge!

having never really bothered with it before, i bought a bottle of toner last week. I had a facial as part of a spa package and the girl recommended that cleansing, toning and moisturising (as opposed to just cleansing and moisturising) would make a big difference to my skin. and i am a total convert. In less that a week the difference to my skin is wonderful.
the facial was fab and highly enjoyable so i think that might become a more frequent treat for myself.
I've also acquired some toiletry cast offs from my mum, but have otherwise maaged to resist splurging.know thyselfNid wy'n gofyn bywyd moethus...0 -
Evening All!
Had to pop into Boots yesterday to buy some shampoo and conditioner: 2 for 1 on tresemme, bought with my advantage points - not sure if that counts as a spend?! Also bought some Simple showergel as it was half price (£1.77) in Somerfield.
It's been tough not going into Boots so often - I've realised it's the place I head if I've had a bad day at work, so have needed to find somethng else to do at lunchtime... Am trying to be healthy and go for a walk instead of heading to the shops, but its not easy!
Whilst posting my purchases on here are helping me to be more conscious of what I'm spending, reading through everyone's posts is making me want to go out and buys lots of nice stuff! Am especially tempted by the S&G Flake Away, sounds fab. Maybe I'll stick it on my birthday list and then enjoy it guilt-free! :A
I really need to start using up some of my nail varnish stash before they go all gloopy, although it would probably help if I actually stopped biting my nails0 -
Didn't need the toothpaste and mouth wash i bought right now *but* they were both better than half price and will come in handy soon. Not quite the idea but its making me think much more before i buy things0

Hello ladies, hope you have all had a good day.
Pavlovs-dog, arent facials fab, its so lovely to have someone pamper you and then emerge looking really fresh faced, the Clarins ones are great, i had one a few years ago after doing an oncall at work (you can imagine me looking very ruff and deshevelled) anyhow, the beautician also put some light make up on for me after my facial (not sure if they still do this, it was a while back) and when i left i bumped into a friend who asked if id been on holiday cause i looked very refreshed :T. Needless to say i left Rackhams with arms full of products
Karen, regarding the squeezy out tampons, i have had this problem at times (kids mess up your body) and i find that the Tampax pearl ones sit a little higher and felt very snug, i was very confident with these.Part_Mouse wrote: »Didn't need the toothpaste and mouth wash i bought right now *but* they were both better than half price and will come in handy soon. In my quest to find some new hobbies and get myself out of the house more (again kids have effectively killed of my social life) i am going to a "Zumba Dance Class" tomorrow (insert nervy smilie) its apparently a nix of latin dance including salsa mixed with toning and aerobic moves?!!? I am going on my own too so am a bit nervous as dont do much exercise, have put on quite a bit of weight over the last few years and also have had a bit of a loss of confidence since having the kids, as well as the rest of it. So wish me luck.

Evening,
nothing to report here, other than about £21 made from selling toiletries.
What I want to ask, is about waxing. I've just been reading another thread about it, and it made me think... I've never tried waxing in my life! Can anyone who uses an epilator tell me which hurts most - waxing or epilating?
I was thinking about buying some wax strips from Boots with my vouchers, as I'm sick of shaving... any recommendations are welcome.0 -

I've only epilated legs and ..um, for fun, arms, but I'd say its considerably less painful than waxing for me so far.0 -

Good luck with the dance class nab, sounds great! I really need to start doing some excercise and trying to lose a bit of weight too (well quite a ot of weight!)
Had a bad-ish day today and bought a few things
Was almost out of Lee Stafford stuff so bought poker straight hair treatment £7.99, b4 you blow balm £4.99 (this is superb for my hair!) and got some overnight hair mist free (3 for 2). Also went into Superdrug and got; shine control moisturiser and those little shine control pads (my t zone seems fairly oily at the mo) 79p and 49p, vit e eyecream (to replace the burning boots one) £1.22, vit e eye make up remover pads (for holidays etc) 97p and vit e facial oil £1.22 (am blaming you lot for that! How do I use it? Before moisturising? And how much?). However, I did avoid the factory shop and all the lovely products in there!!!
On the plus side, I am hugely amazed at how good the Boots customer service is! I emailed them to tell them about the burning sensation I got from the time delay eye cream and today they sent me a letter with a skin reaction survey and a £35 gift card! I couldn't believe it! I only emailed to find out if I could exchange the product without receipt in store! Much respect to the mighty Boots!I want a perfect body, I want a perfect soul, I want you to notice when I'm not around[/SIZE][/FONT][/B]0 -
Oh the zumba classes sound cool (please let it be
- or I'm going to sound like some crazy stalker?!) Nab.
Re the Tampax: thanks for all the tips guys, honestly I've tried them all! I was going to take them into work and put a note up saying help yourselves but I do work with a couple of men and they don't really want to be looking at them while they're washing their hands.
Won't get a bath tonight cause we've all only just got back from a dance festival and I'll wake the kids up. They'll be pooped tomorrow!Debt: 16/04/2007:TOTAL DEBT [strike]£92727.75[/strike] £49395.47:eek:   £43332.28 repaid 100.77% of £43000 target.MFiT T2: Debt [STRIKE]£52856.59[/STRIKE] £6316.14 £46540.45 repaid 101.17% of £46000 target.2013 Target: completely clear my [STRIKE]£6316.14[/STRIKE] £0 mortgage debt. £6316.14 100% repaid.0 -

I'm quite dark and thick haired and I find that epilating works better for me, it lasts longer and I've noticed a big big difference in the hair being thinner. I think its down to personal preference to what hurts more, they both hurt the first time but I've got used to epilating now so it doesn't really hurt so much anymore...well not unless I get too close to my bikini line:eek:*wonders when they will make dressing gowns acceptable day wear?*No new toiletries challenge - use up the stash first!NSD Jan 2/150
