Thanks Dusty! I don't buy magazines to be honest and any free papers we get on the train get put straight in the recycling (which DH is putting out as we speak!). Paper isn't too much of a problem here...I was terrible when I worked from home but DH takes care of all the adminy stuff here and he's very good at it. I just put things like payslips in a pile in the study, it magically gets filed, shredding I put on the shredder and he does it. He's very good (although far from perfect don't feel too jealous!)
Whilst I was watching dispatches tonight DH cancelled sky movies (saving £10 a month - we never watch it!) and changed his phone contract, saving £5 a month. I did mine last week so we've just saved £240 a year - every little helps!Mum to gorgeous baby boy born Sept 2010:j0 -
Hi everyone
I've amanged to clear the papaerwork hot spots from the kitchen and start on the shredding but there is so much to do and the shredder keeps overheating so I'm setting it up in the DR tomorrow and just doing a bit at a time. I also need to finish off the paperwork hotspot in the BR and then put all kiddies keepsakes in the boxes in the Garage and then thats Monday done
Off to check what has to be done tomorrow
Well done everyone

Hi,
I've listed all my read books on a book swap site, i need to do shredding but i don't think my neighbours would be too happy if i started now. I will however go and clear my desk and file those last few things then i'll sort a list for me to do tomorrow.
[STRIKE]List all my books on swap site[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]Sort magazines upstairs & down[/STRIKE] i've put 3 in recycling bag, i do have a big pile of unread ones that my Sister gave me but they're being recycled as soon as they've been read
Shredding
[STRIKE]Go through note books & rip out pages that have been written on & are of no use[/STRIKE]
Sort through the pile of papers on my desk
Deal with paperwork i've started this just need to file a few things0 -
1st Paper Monday
Anything to do with paperwork/photos/boxes of cards/kids pictures/books/magazines etc
Remeber some paperwork needs to be kept for certain periods of times
Shread confidential waste - this can be used in the compost/wormery; for pet bedding or packing up those ebay sales you will be making later in the week.
Please recycle all other paper where possible.
2nd Cotton Tuesday
[STRIKE]Clothes - anybody's for charity/rehoming or ebay but not creating piles!
If it has not been worn in a year is it ever likely to be?
Do you have summer/spring clothes stashed away which you could sort out?
Are some of your winter clothes really past their best?
Are there items not being worn because they are waiting to be [/STRIKE]mended[STRIKE]/defuzzed?[/STRIKE] If so get that done this evening and start wearing them
[STRIKE]Anything that needs drycleaning take to the cleaners.
[/STRIKE]Clothes which cannot be reworn can be bagged and labelled as rags and placed in the supermarket clothing banks or given to charity shops - they still get cash from the rag man.
I keep on top of mine and the kiddies clothing and DH does his when I tell [STRIKE]nag[/STRIKE] him to. So tomorrows list is fairly short for me which is good as I still have paperwork stuff to do, so my list for tomorrow is
Mend DD'd trousers and socks
Take any clothing in the garage to the charity shop or the clothes bin
Sort out paperwork on comp desk
Sort out paperwork in BR
Sort out kiddies stuff into their special boxes in the garage
Continue with the shredding
Night night

Yey I've finished DS1's box - so pleased with myself and I know I would not have done it without this thread (I did not want to let you all down).
Tomorrow I'm sorting all my clothes, shouldn't take too long. Only problem will be trying them on as the builder is in and working between the shower room and the landing outside our bedroom.
Off to declutter a suduko.

Evening everyone...
I didn't do so well today - I managed the grand total of a carrier bag full of shredding..... thats it..... all of it......
I was late home from work out from 9.15 this morning until 7 tonight as I had a late home visit after school and then a long drive home. This really cut into the evening and I was determined to do some of the flylady list as well as my house is dreadful.
But I suppose it is better than nothing that I would normally have done - it can only get better - the worse woudl be like Mr Trevous.....
MeNovember NSD 1/10Weight loss - 7lbs from the 41 I need to loose = 34 to go0 -
So tomorrow!!
Cotton Tuesday
Clear freshly cleaned clothes hot spot that has become a permenant fixture on the sofa - it now reaches the top of the back of the sofa (lost cause) - this will mean hanging some of the clothes on the hundreds of hangers that appear to be lying around and folding the rest of the clothes and most importantly outting them away (I am really bad at this bit)
I will also sort through 1 bag of material and one of clothes that came up in the last load from my mother and are still in the hall nearly 4 months later... Those for charity shop can go straight out to the car - I already have a bag of books in the boot for delivery later in the week.
I will then finish the shredding pile.November NSD 1/10Weight loss - 7lbs from the 41 I need to loose = 34 to go0 -

Back on the mission again today. Honestly - I now have my room to declutter - as everything I found yesterday went into my room. Finding my bed last night involved a map .
Today I have to go into the bank (in person) and then I have a meeting at 1.30 - but I HOPE I'll be able to zoom round the kitchen & utility and not have to get another map to get to my bed!
Best of luck everyone - imagine how easy it will be to fly round the house after a week of doing this :wave:Me, OH, grown DS, (other DS left home) and Mum (coming up 80!). Considering foster parenting. Hints and tips on saving £ always well received. Xx
March 1st week £80 includes a new dog bed though £63 was food etc for the week.0
