i;m still on old look and it's slow for me too so speed might not be to do with look as such2008: £783.12 - 2009: £6,401.15 - 2010: £4,230.61 - 2011: £8720 - 2012: £2,041.89

Can't seem to get back to old view either.

nooooo, I want our old one back, this is driving me mad, soooo slowMy light may be on, but that doesn't always mean I am looking at the PC - I am far more likely to be cuddling or feeding Tianna atm, so please don't think I am ignoring you if I don't reply quickly

whew, just went to look at the thread link about it at top, and we can still default back to the old version. It feels faster to me still in the old version.MSE_Martin wrote: »Hi folks,
Today (Mon 24 May 10) we've launched a major cosmetic revamp of the MSE forum, the first in four years.
We hope you like it - its cleaner, easier to navigate and the forum text starts higher up the page so you can see more of the discussion and lots of small tweaks too.
Do let us know what you think of it (though the team and I have put 100s hours of hard work in, so if you don't like it be gentle).
Having said that we're pretty sure its a big improvement we put it out to extensive testing (see new MSE forum test) and got many great suggestions that we incorporated, so we're going to run with it.
Want to switch back
While this is the default view, if you preferred the old view you can switch back to it, provided you're a logged in (registered) user.
To do that go to your User CP using the link at the top of the page. Click on Edit Options. Scroll down, find the Forum Skin drop down menu, and select MSE V1 from the list. Finally press the Save Changes button.
However before you do why not try it for a few days, this is the design we will be primarily supporting going forward.
Many of those in testing who originally didn't like the "change" found it a major improvement once they'd got used to it.
Any problems or glitches
If you have any problems do report it too - just click reply.

just dropped in to see if everyone else had speed problems. And they do.
It's driving me BARKING! Let's hope it's a temporary glitch.0 -
The slowness is driving me mad. It's all very well prettying it up but the old maxim of 'if it AINT broke DON'T fixit' springs to mind.
Putting extra functionality (that's a word I picked up from my OH who is an analyst programmer) is is all very well but more often than not it comes at the expense of speed. Personally I didn't think there was anything wrong with the old board

As per the regular competitions and their fantastic posters my feeling is that a new sticky be added which lists the regular posters, their competitions and their deputies.
I'm not perdantic (well not much anyway) but I find it comforting to see familiar trusted names listing the regular competitions, not that I'm saying that newbies aren't to be trusted, it's just you kinda build up a 'relationship' with the regulars, if you know what I mean.
Anyway, that's my pennies worth.

totally agree with this, but bg's have said before that we have enough stickies as it is;) fair enough that we have to be nice to newbies and all that but it goes both ways, they should know that there are posters that go out there way to either buy mags (weeklies and specials) and those who watch programmes to get the comps, would be great tho to have somewhere that lists who does what and this system has worked wonders with the postal/text thread as hardly anyone dupes a comp now:D
reg posters that i know of:
comping cat - itv comps
dalkirst - itv comp, cant remember name:o
korky - thats life, pmu, full house, tab spring/summer/winter/autumn specials
tttjay - tab, chat0
