Please forgive the cynic in me, but surely these comps are set up as a money making venture when they are charging up to £1/min for phone calls and £1/text? This makes me wonder if they just put a postal address as some kind of legal obligation, and then ignore any entries they get via post! If anybody can prove my theory wrong on this one, I would be grateful
there is also a legal obligation to do competitions legally (accepting all entries) unless some were entered against t+cs0 -
I have won plenty from postcard entries, including recently £100 from a TV magazine that had text entries as well. I won't pay more than around 75p per text so for me postal entries are a lot cheaper. I enter around 50 postals a week & so far it has really paid off!2023 wins - Rice Krispies, Avene Micellar Gel, Barbie Toy, £20 Apple Gift Card, KFC 6 piece bargain bucket, Chloe Nomade perfume, Barbie Toy (second one), Sanctuary Spa Sleep Balm, E45 Moisturising Lotion, Trolls Hamper, 12 Tonie Characters, Sure deodorant, Good Home Utensil holder, £5 Costa Gift Card, Neutrogena Micellar Jelly, Soap & Glory Mascara, Persil capsules,0

think it depends on which way the entrant wants to enter, are you saying it's worthwhile submitting a postal entry as sometimes that's cheaper than the phone/text entry, or sometimes the phone/text entry is cheaper than the postal entry, it depends on the comp, the weekly news is cheaper to phone in than sending a postcard but some of them are cheaper to send a postcard than phoning ini don't think they ignore any as they are supposed to check all entries

Is this the best place to find info on competitions?
Are there any other recommended sites or forums?
Thanks0 -
lol You've found this one, seen the potential, posted something and been deleted, now you ask if there are others you can post on, where is that role eyes smiley
LOL, you are good mate - I like your style!
I'm just trying to do my best to help a friend out with a genuine competition and it is proving difficult to be honest.
New at all this and not really faring too well.
Would appreciate some advice _pale_0 -
Hi Q4Legend. Welcome to the Comps forum.
The competitions on here are all genuine, to the best of our knowledge and the people on this forum are very adept at spotting anything dodgy.
If you have a look in the I Won I Won I Won thread you'll see loads of people letting us know about their wins.
The best place to start is normally to have a read of the Comping Guide here and then you can ask any questions you may have in the Competitions Discussion Thread here. Both these threads are "sticky" ones so are easy to find near the top of the page.Love all, trust a few. Do wrong to none.

I am a newbie I have read all the guides and think they are great..really have helped me Thank you.
Now is the bit where I make it evident that I am new and know jack hehe!
I have tried the various ways of searching comps to make sure I dont miss one...I come across some that look the same and my feeble mind tells me I entered it..but as advised I click the "thanks" so I can easily keep track.
What I have been doing is going to the advanced search entering E: 08/05 and then selection competitions time and then getting 12 or so pages of comp for that date... it seems pretty affective but I just wanted to check with all those that know what they are doing. Is this a good way to do things.
Also entering roughly 100 comps a day is this a good amount for a newb? hehe
welcome to the boards, and hope you will be very lucky.
First of all I think entering 100 a day is brilliant - ESP for a newbie - I've been comping for nearly a year and don't manage any where near that many.
Your system sounds ok. I do it slightly differently, by using the 'END DATE; view option on the top tab, which then orders the thread into date-ending order, but I guess the results are much the same.
Keep at it, the wins will come in soon enough (though I think there are so many entrants now it's slowing up a bit). If you want an instant win try the Doritoes and Cushelle Koala comps posted in the regular comps/daily comps thread.
Good luck0
