Hi,could I please join? I know this challenge has already started but I really need to stop spending money on stuff I could do without.
I'm gonna;
Not buy any more make-up, toiletries or skincare unless the pots are empty.
Do 15 minutes of excercise a day.
Take my own lunch to work.
Thanx0 -
When I was packing for my holiday I found a bottle of dry oil body spray i didn't even know I had! So took that and used up the rest of some baby lotion I had. Am going to try and use the spray every day or every couple of days to prove to myself I can use it and look after my skin!Became Mrs Scotland 16.01.16

Still no spends here on cosmetics etc, or food at work (but thats a story not for here!)... even got some lovely Benefit makeup from MiL for my birthday... not sure that I want to use it though, its so lovely!
This thread is highlighted in Martins email this week, and got me wondering.... is it 'worth' spending less money on products in the hope that you find a cheap alternative you like/suites your skin, but run the risk of throwing loads of stuff away.... or stick with what you know even though it is more expensive?
The 100 day challenges I've done before (and I think FedUp will agree) have taught me that I like Liz Earle for my face, will use any shower gel as long as its a natural one and not drying (LE, Body Shop etc) and I will use ANY body moisturiser as long as it doesn't smell disgusting!

I am lucky enough to have fairly easy skin so I stick with the cheaper products as nothing seems to irritate it. However, I know some people who have sensitive skin and certain chemicals in cheap stuff make it worse.
I would think that it's worth trying a cheaper brand maybe in between a better brand bottle as that way you can have a play? Or borrow a bit of a friends brand to try before you buy?
My preference would be organic stuff but my budget just won't stretch that far at the moment.Became Mrs Scotland 16.01.16Became homeowners 26.02.16

Hi everyone.
My pledge: 31 days not to buy any skincare or cosmetics or handbags
Update: I've used up one moisturiser and WILL use one of the many in my stash - its not my usual but it is still an anti-ageing one with a SPF so hopefully it should be fine.:j
No cosmetics:j
OOPS on the handbag - I did buy a Miche handbag (in theory it was one but the great thing is that it comes with two additional handles and 3 different covers so 9 different styles).
I promise I'll be good for the rest of the 31 days.

Hi everyone, I'm back after a week away
I'll update everyone who is new later on or tomorrow
As for my stocks - I took on holiday half used up full size items and used up 7 things!
Hair mask
bubble baths (travel sizes
Elasticizer
Toothpaste
Mouthwash
Travel size moisturiser
Prolegene gel
Nice to come home with less bulky bottles!
I caved in with 2 more sets of Decleor - however, as I know my now super irritable and sensitive skin does not react to it. I bought 2 more sets of supersizes to keep me going and with the handcream and body lotions which I love and use constantly. Meaning I don't feel too guilty about this apart from thinking no more stocks needed in this area as have about a years worth
As my skin is reacting so much I can't use any of my serums really as they are too much for my skin at this time so the bathroom cupboard is full of these unused for now.
I checked my shower gel stocks and I reckon by around Sept time I will have used everything up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If not then in a month or so later and this will be the first time I will have been this low in stocks for 4 years!!!!!!
What else, I also bought the BE TSV last weekend as I can use this with no irritation, and I'm using up the foundation now. I threw out the Philosophy mineral stuff which settled into my pores and I never really got in with and after 2years of trying it has gone (not much left!). I also bought the kit because I knew I would use all elements of the kit. I love the well rested and the radiance so I don't feel too bad about that
Overall 2 days broken so far
I'm with Sarah that I agree I only buy what I know suits my skin (Decleor/ L'Occitane mainly). I've tried the cheaper brands and my skin reacted sadly. It has also taught me not to compulsively buy the sets and brands from QVC and I can stick now to what I know I will use and only if the value is good and not buying it for the sake of it as I did before. I am working hard to use up the many L'Occitane soaps up before buying anymore (so tempting at times!) I've been doing this for ages, give some away as presents and am using them up at home. Will take some time - must have had a lot to start with!
The temptation is still high overall and I have taught myself not to buy every make up brand on QVC now. Plus I have a lot of eyeshadows! I stayed strong to not buy the BE eyeshadow set they were pushing alongside the TSV last week
Still have a lot of shampoo and conditioner to use up and should be coming to the end of the L'Occitane Rose ones soon. They were ok but not better than using the milk shower cream as a shampoo! I'll be using this next with some of the conditioners I have on the go now!
Conclusions - not too bad, better than before but needs to pull socks up and stay strong!final unsecured debt to repay currently £8333Proud to be Dealing With my DebtDFW Nerd 1154 Long Haul 1550
