  • Hi there,

I'd love to join this thread if that's ok! :) As I'm needing a contract with myself to stop wasting money on stuff I don't need! I found the old thread just when everyone was finishing the 100 days - just my luck!!!

For the next 31 days, I want to give up:

    - Magazines
    - Toiletries (unless needed)
    - Expensive brands when a saver brand will do!
    - Buying lunches at work - I will bring lunch in with me!

So that's it - if I break it, you have my permission to give me a hard time!

Can I join too please? I would like to pledge to buy no alcohol, no books, no clothes and no more house-y bits! I'm sure I'll think of more things, but I think thats a good start!

    Good luck everyone!

OK, so here is my list of stuff I need to do this month:

~ Walk 5KM three times a week (hard to fit in round my work timetable)
~ Practice music everyday (15 mins min, 30+ mins preferable)
~ Bring work to lunch every working day (4/7 this week, won't know more til later today)
~ Turbolist all the items I have to sell for free listings day (or put them on Amazon/Green Met)
~ Take my calcuim and vitamin tablets every day
    ~ Join mystery shopping websites
    ~ Read two books
~ No drinking coke or eating chocolate/other sweeties
~ Not buy any more toiletries

That'll keep me busy! If funds permit (unlikely) I also have to try my hand at matched betting and make up a photo album I've been threatening to do for ages.

Sorry I'm late. I was thinking of taking a break but now I'm debt free I have a real urge to splurge. Have treated myself to a couple of clothes things I needed but I need to make sure this doesn't get out of control again. Am also fighting the urge to buy magazines again but it really would be money wasted so
I pledge not to buy clothes, magazines or toiletries (unless something runs out). Thanks

Welcome back Jellie - It's a good idea to do this so you don't get back to square 1 and get used to retraining yourself

If I was in the same boat as you and DF I would have to do the same as I think the spending urge would return.

No worries though it's all MS in the end and better for us to change our habits longer term and gently!

Day one all sorted - off in the bath with one of my many unread books and a glass of wine (bought by OH :D) - cheating a bit, but thats ok for day 1 right :rotfl:
