My goodness what a few days!
The snow put paid to business for us for a week and on top of that our business bank has messed up the transition to card readers so I cannot check my bank account so I have NO idea whether we are getting toward being overdrawn  Had a meeting with a n other bank manager on Friday so are switching pronto! Ok Ok 'in with anger out with love etc etc etc....'
On the plus side DansDad has been given a job gritting so as you can imagine has been very busy and earning the pennies to keep a roof over our heads! The horses have not been enjoying the weather. They both had icicles on their faces yesterday in the freezing fog! Its been hard work with them this last few days..... But lovely to know that at 330pm they're all tucked up with a big feed a big rug and a big haynet!
Had a productive week as wasnt working! Found loads of cold windy leaks to plug. There was an enormous hole above my front door  which has a load of duct tape and a towel on now! I have curtains over both doors and insulation tape on the corners of the windows. Will probably suffocate!MFW 2011 No. 161 £946.54/£2000 TargetApril 9/15March 14/15

I bet its been awful having to go out to sort the horses in this horrible weather. Least some good came out of it though if dansdad got extra work.0

Thanks Ladies....
Yes it is hard work this time of year, but it keeps you fit! :j:j Makes you lose weight too....The boys are fine, sounds bad them having icicles on their faces, but if they were not there, then they'd be cold as they'd be losing heat through their fur! Its a bit frustrating not being able to ride though... I finally have the pin number today for the card that works the card reader but I have to 'unlock it' for goodness sake! So I should be able to see how badly overdrawn we are. My only worry is that I have an overdraft on one account but the another. It did have about £900 in it, but there have been bills go out and the bank will not do any phone banking with me. Thank goodness we're off as they are monumentally carp as a business bank....
Poor old DansDad has been on the early shift this week, so 3am starts.. He's not used to this getting up early. But its a real godsend doing this job....
Hope you're all well and not drowning under a sea of wrapping paper xx:DMFW 2011 No. 161 £946.54/£2000 TargetApril 9/15March 14/15

Well surprise surprise the card reader STILL doesnt work. I have been unable to check the business bank account for 3 weeks now. FINALLY someone managed to tell me over the phone that the account I was worried about wasnt overdrawn. I have to wait some more now apparently for another registration to go through. I have told them that if I get any unauthorised borrowing I will dispute it...
Grrr
However - the sun is shining!

OK In the anger out with love....:A
Card reader finally works and I've managed to get everyone paid... Had a really good meeting with the accountant the other day as we're going Ltd! Theres good tax benefits not only for the business but for me too! :j
Had our Christmas Do the other night. Went well apart from one of the instructors wives insisting that what we do is effing s**t. This she said several times in increasing volume as she got drunker. In fact she's been trying to get her husband to get another job and stop doing this 'effing s**t' I've taken that personally.... If its so bad then I'll give the job to someone else. It was fine when they have had four abroad holidays this year, their kids have the newset of everything and she changes her dishwasher because she didnt like the colour.... I think because it Mums business I get ferociously protective of her....:( Breathe.........
On the flip side, I had a lovely day off yesterday, went out on Danny, did a bit of cleaning and started baking yummies for Christmas. Well I hope they'll last til then anywayMade apple and cinnamon muffins, cranberry and pistacio chocolates and a nut roast for my Christmas dinner. Am making cheese and red onion scones tonight...
Have managed to transfer £75 to the spends account as its been a bit OD for a few weeks....
Christmas, hurry up8 days to go then off til 4th Jan

I have overpaid £926.87 in 2010 from Feb when I started...
I've also shed £1047 of credit card debt and £5600 of car debt
I have made standard capital payments of £2800 ish give or take so I have cleared a massive £10373.87 of debt since 28th February 2010
OMG how did that happen?
Just like to say thank you all so much for your virtual friendships, support and laughs. I hope you all have a smashing Christmas and much love to you... ( I havent had a drink either :rotfl: yet)

That is quite impressive, and something to keep you going during the cold dark winter months. Here's to another good year at it for all of us. :beer:0

OK now things have got really bad...
On Sunday I was up our yard with Ma as Old Horse has a massive cut on his leg and we were bathing it and generally getting everything ready for the evening. It had snowed a lot overnight and was below freezing.
There was a couple there who I havent seen for ages, as she, Lou, had been suffering from stomach cancer and had been through a lot, but was in remission. She was smiley and we had a chat.
Anyway, her husband and I had a chat as we used to work together years ago, and Lou was talking to some some of the other girls. There were 5 of us up there.
Lou disappeared for a while and I remember (although please remember I have no preception of time) Lynn coming to ask if we'd seen her. Mum and I were filling haynets. I was then doing the feeds for the night when Lynn came rushing over saying Lou had collapsed in the tack room, her heart had stopped and her hubby was giving CPR.
We rushed over and I took over from her hubby who was distraught...:( The ambulance turned up really quickly and we moved her away from the wall and the paramedics took over. Hubby came out after a while saying she wasnt responding. They did however eventually get a pulse.
Apparently after 50 minutes working on her they got a second crew and both crews took her to hospital....
Lynn Mum and myself tried to work out how long she'd been left, but we couldnt, maybe 5 minutes or so???
That evening she was in Critical care sedated. But sadly yesterday afterniin she was declared brain dead and passed away.
I have never had to do CPR ever although have always kept up with the training. BUT I now am thinking did I do it right, for long enough, too long, hard enough, too hard..... Its knocked me for 6...
She leaves behind 3 children and grandchildren. She was a community midwife and had just gone back to work.....
Am so sad.... We are looking after her 2 horses for her. My heart breaks for the family especially at Christmas......MFW 2011 No. 161 £946.54/£2000 TargetApril 9/15March 14/15
