best dry cat food

RE the OP. I'm kinda wondering what people reckon to it though. I'm just about to get my cat (Dave) back after an extended spell away with the ex (:mad::mad:) and wondering what the best food for the little blighter is
Most of the Hills Science variants (but not all, check the ingredients) are in the region of 50% meat content so a decent food IMO. However it is £5+ a kilo at full price, which means you can get more meat for your money; if you can find Hills Science on a two-for-one it's a great MSE purchase. :money: At one time you could download a £5 voucher from the website, but sadly that can't be used with multibuy offers. I wouldn't personally touch Hills with a bargepole as they are a Colgate-Palmolive brand (animal testing) but you may not have the same concerns.Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0 -
Found someone at work who says they've got a P@H near them, and will get me the purely biscuits at the end of the month. So that's handy! Won't be the more meat ones though, bit out of my budget i'm afraid
Don't beat yourself up, still ten times the Go Cat meat content and cheaper than Purina One! :j The whole point of this website is to get value for money not necessarily 'the best'. I'd love to go all free range/ organic with Noah but budget will simply not stretch that far (newly unemployed).

My vet gives me Science Plan vouchers from time to time - £30 when I get him jabbed in a week or soProud of who, and what, I am. :female::male::cool:0 -

As said above, purely is a huge improvement over go cat so not getting the more meat one isn't something you should feel bad about. I was asking about the price out of curiosity, £8 per 1.5kg makes it very expensive in my book, more expensive than Orijen. If I decide to go with purely, I wont be using the more meat one either.Sigless0 -
That first [STRIKE]rant[/STRIKE] link was posted on Purrsinourhearts forums a while back, it seems very unclear to me how much is scaremongering/ rumours and how much is real. Surely if melamine had actually been found in Applaws by Trading Standards a recall would have been enforced?? Melamine killed pets in the states.
I did read a statement earlier that alleged to be from the trading standards saying their tests had revealed a number of contaminants in applaws, but didn't state what they were. It also stated they'd asked applaws for the results of the tests they had themselves obviously ran on the foods, and as yet hadn't received them. (might have actually been in the link I posted above).
It's something I'll have to look into as obviously I don't want my cats on it if there's anything untoward in it. But as said above, how much is true? How much is disgruntled pet owners scaremongering?Sigless0 -

I use Science plan for my 3 cats. All 3 cats have a great coat and are all very healthy cats.
I use Nutrecare - where they usually have but 2 get 1 free. They are also a lot cheaper than pet shops and vets.0 -
check my post here for a discount code for nutrecare.
my cat loves the purina proplan salmon&rice (70% fish) to the extent that he sniffs at anything else.0 -
Sorry to disappoint but Pro Plan is only 18% fish.Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0
