I feed my cat the purely dry food (which he loves!) and he has either purely, applaws or pets at home deli range wet food.

    Hi Rev

I do feed wet, they are having Bozita. They have wet in the evening, and dry during the day. I'll have a look at that, but i think that might be a little too expensive for me when you add postage.
    Thanks though

Sorry, missed that. Bozita is excellent food. I feed two cats on applaws, because the meat content is so high, you feed a very small amount each day and a 7.5lg bag lasts months. Works out much cheaper per day than most of the cheaper ones because you need to feed more of those. Best if you work out how much your cats would need per day than calculate how much it'll cost per day to feed. (Sorry for pointing it out if you do that already). I bought a bag last November and have only just had to order a new bag. £30 for four month food (for two cats) is seriously cheap.

Has anyone got any thoughts on the Bozita Katty dry food? Also looking to change from Purina One dry food, but need something within same kind of budget, ie £14 for 3kg. Have read also some comments about P@H purely dry food. Is this any good. I know that its got a good high meat content, but does anyones cat like it. Oh and is also saw James Wellbeloved on the RL Pets for a good price. £22 for 5kg, which is roughly the same as i pay for Purina, just more of it.
    Thanks!

Purina One is 16% meat, James Wellbeloved is 26% meat, Bozita Katty has wheat as it's main ingredient and doesn't state the meat content. If you are looking for a food at around £14 for 3kg (£4.70 per kilo) you can certainly better the Purina One. Aside from the extortionate price for the meat content I wouldn't buy Purina as it is a Nestle brand nor JWB as it is a MARS brand.

Well within your budget are ... Jollyes Lifestage (26% meat) is £2 per kilo, P@H Purely (40% meat) is £3.40 per kilo, Fish4Cats (70% fish) is £3.90 per kilo, Trophy (35% meat) is £3.50 per kilo, Burns (36% meat) is £4 per kilo. If you are concerned about the all important taste-test try e-mailing a few companies for free samples, I got 2.5kg in total by doing just that!! :money:

If you are willing to spend £5 to £6 per kilo you could try Applaws (80% meat), Orijen (75% meat) or Pets at Home Purely More Meat (70% meat). Bear in mind you will feed much much less of these foods than you will the Purina One as cats are obligate carnivores, they cannot fully utilise the grains/ cereals in dry food so a lot will come straight out the other end! When I changed Noah from JWB to Orijen he started pooping once or twice instead of three times a day.

Fantastic, thanks. Will have a look at all of those. We used to feed them go-cat, then swapped to Purina One thinking we were doing a good thing, then started reading on here that i can go one better again!
    Cheers guys :)

Wow that P@H Purely looks great, and fantastic price too. Has anyone tried this?
Think that will be my first option, will order some online at the end of the month.

IMO Purina One is a massive improvement on GoCat, IMO there should be a law against cat foods containing 4% meat. Can't comment on the Pets at Home dry but I feed the Purely wet and it is excellent quality - huge chunks of fish in jelly.
