  • My tickets arrived this morning, I only booked them at 4pm yesterday! Although no seats have been reserved, as they say they cannot reserve seats on other train companies, i.e. virgin - so will have to go along to my local station sometime and reserve some seats. Not much hassle to save over £50!
  • Do we think this offer is open till modnight or the close of buisness?

I've already posted this on hotukdeals but it's worth another go i suppose!

Okay this might be a long shot but would anyone who has got this to work with a young persons railcard be willing to get me some tickets? I've been trying for so long but with no joy. I've ordered a couple of sets but one order just won't seem to work. The tickets come to around £24 after the 50% off and railcard. PM me if you can help. I could pay you back immediately via bank transfer or cheque.

    Many Thanks,
    Michael

Errmm.. I've just searched for Darlington - Edinburgh and Darlington - York return, and all of the prices are DOUBLE the normal priced (checked on thetrainline.com)

    For example:
Saver Return to Edinburgh on Monday - £55.80 according to thetrainline
Saver Return to Edinburgh on Monday - £111.60 according to First Scotrail!!!

So as far as I can see, it's the same price as what you'd pay anyway!
Were you searching for the prices for two people by any chance? First Scotrail website shows the total price to be charged, without the discount.

Incidentally I book all my tickets through Scot Rail as they don't charge an extra credit card fee, so it's a site worth remembering even when they don't have this deal on.

Outside of this offer, you're better off using virgintrains.co.uk (-- all these sites use the same Virgin/Trainline booking engine). Virgin also don't charge a credit card fee, and their fee for refunding cancellable tickets is £5/ticket, half the cost of Scot Rail's.

Big thanks to the original poster. Just saved a lot of money!

Thank you. You've just saved me £30, so I can now actually afford to go and see my friend in Derbyshire (from London) the day before payday (ie skint).
