Our family weekend has been sorted now - two adults weekend return to London (from local station change at Grantham) on Central trains, Hull trains and coming home on GNER for £39.80 for us both (two kids to small to pay) instead of nearly £80 - cheers OP!Official DFW Nerd Club - Member no. 002 :rotfl:0

Noctu wrote:Errmm.. I've just searched for Darlington - Edinburgh and Darlington - York return, and all of the prices are DOUBLE the normal priced (checked on thetrainline.com)
For example:
Saver Return to Edinburgh on Monday - £55.80 according to thetrainline
Saver Return to Edinburgh on Monday - £111.60 according to First Scotrail!!!
So as far as I can see, it's the same price as what you'd pay anyway!0 -
marko4ever25 - you're a life saver.

Hi, I went first to the link, then decided I would get a railcard and went to FirstScot direct to try and get the deal with a railcard. It knew who I was so I deleted my cookies, but it still knows that I've gone through the link! And advice? Will it time-out?

they may ask to see it on train if you dont have it you would need to pay the difference. If you have the recipet you got when your purchased railcard you can get a replacment one for £50 -
Excellent, thanks to OP! Just booked adult and child tickets from Truro in Cornwall to Blackpool, with a family railcard using the method above, for £53.25 - bargain!0
