Happy Birthday Smokeybabe!!
Good morning everyone else!
Thank you so much for your nice comments about my wee Coco. She is still adorable, and settling in so nicely and so comfortable that she thought it was OK to do a number 2 in the livingroom this morning!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Poor girl, OH had just brought her in, and she had done her business already, but must have not been finished. Apologies if you are eating!
We have also discovered that she appears to not like other dogs. I think it's some sort of fear aggression, and hope to get her over it quite quickly.
OS today is cake baking, and Chiili just about to go in SC, with HM pitta bread, I'll need to hunt out the recipe, I can't find it in my file, but I got it on here originally I'm sure. Waiting for the WM repairman, my three month old machine was doing it's final spin on Sunday when there was a huge breaking noise, I thought something had fallen and when I went into the kitchen there was a huge hole in the door and my washing was full of broken glass! So then the washing mountain will be sorted.
The buys had MUFTI day today for LEPRA at school, and for once we were early, but we'd forgotten, so had to come home, as I didn't even have my purse with me to give them their £s. Quick change and they went back for 9.15am, the wee one with his trousers backwards (on purpose!!)
MIL's birthday was on Wed, but we couldn't go and see her as oldest DS has a terrible cold, and we can't risk her catching anything in case it develops into a chest infection. It's exhausting I don't know how she manages to cope so well, I'm worried every time her breathing changes that this will be the one that will send her downhill. Anyway, we will be going up there on Sunday to visit her, his cough should have hopefully cleared up by then, and if not then OH and younger DS will go if they are well. This is the first birthday she's had in all the years I've known her, that I never saw her on the day, it was quite sad.........
There's been so much going on here recently, that I couldn't possibly detail every event. Suffice to say, I've been laughin and crying with you all, and waving at the newbies, and missing the regulars who've also been MIA.
Have a gorgeous day, and feel free to partake of one of my hugs!

did anyone watch 'Tonight' last night ? it was about saving money on energy bills. they had a thermal imaging camera on the outside of houses showing how much heat was leeching out through the walls and windows, it was incredible , most houses were simply chucking heat out into the night air  they said you could save hundreds of pounds with proper insulation and energy saving methods ( the sort of stuff we MSErs do as a matter of course
:A) - interesting though
I was surprise how much energy boiling a kettle used  think I will have to boil the kettle once and stick the rest in a flask
have a good day all xx
Didnt see this as we had a friend round to watch the football with us on our new freebie Freeview box. But this doesnt surprise me. On the rare occasions when it does snow round here, you could see the rooves of some of the houses opposite our flats and some of them were clear and some had snow on. The clear ones must have had all the heating going out through the roof.
Just nipping in quick today as lots to do but have just been invited to my first ever wedding. It is from an old colleague of my flatmate who is Dutch and used to come with us to see the football sometimes etc. We have stayed in touch on and off and I thought it was very nice of him.He was a young good looking lad then a few years back and its odd to think now he will be married soon.First person I know to get wed.Have been in my time to about 6 or so funerals but never once a wedding.
I dont know how I am going to find the money to get over there even though it is in September I do not anticipate getting a job before despite all constant effort then as I dont believe the recession will pick up jobwise until the middle of next year. Would be nice if I could find the money to go tho as it is a couple of days after my birthday and Holland is a nice place.
On top of all this I have to find £500 for my season ticket soon.:mad:What Would Bill Buchanan Do?0 -
Morning all.
Just came on to say Happy Birthday to Smokeybabe. :bdaycake:
Nothing exciting going on here. Had yet another lie in as still really tired. Side was a bit less sore when I woke up this morning, so thats hopefully a good sign that this shingles lark will be disappearing soon!
Had to go out in my pyjamas and rescue the recycling bin, its so windy and I could hear them all being blown down the road. If I'd been at work today like I usually am I don't think I would have found it, as they were already at the end of the street!
Kids off to their Dads tonight for the weekend, so really need to find some motivation from somewhere to get some housework done and not sit on here all weekend!0 -
Happy birthday smokeybabe
Well done on your overdraft wilbur.
Sorry to hear about your boiler, Jackie. Hopefully it won't take too long to sort out.
Good luck at the hospital, Sandy
Morning all
Not so busy today
My body has gone on strike as it doesn't like any extra work, so we're here for the day. My parents are coming over as they have done some shopping for me.
I really need to sort out the fridge / freezer / cupboards and do a stock take. That will be a job for this weekend, I think.
Have sorted some work for the girls and ordered some resources off amazon. They've worked quite well this week. I'm having an extra push on maths, so prepared some worksheets last night, for them [DD1 isn't happy, she has some sort of maths phobia!]
Dinner tonight will be HM chicken goujons, which DDs can help me with. No idea what to have with them, although I will probably have salad as I'm under medical instruction to lose weight
Hope you all have a good day

Afternoon peeps
nasty weather here, cold and very windy and absolutely chucking it down. I looked like i`d been in the shower with all my clothes on when i got back with the houndies, younger houndie was black with mud and little oldie was soaking. They are now both clean and dry and asleep
Offski to w*rk shortly, i`ve made enchiladas and wedges with rattatouille for tea later and i`ve shoved the leftover handful of wedges in a sandwich for later - very carby
Happy Birthday Smoky :bdaycake: have a fantastic day with plenty of
Wilbur - Great news, well done :T
JackieGlasgow - Our younger houndie and also the oldie absolutely hated other dogs when we got them, both are now fine but it took a long time to socialise them properly and get them to trust others, they are both rescues with horrible stories to tell which is why i think it took so long but we got there eventually.
We walk everyday with a group of other people and their dogs now and they love to run around together and play. I still keep an eye on them with dogs that they haven`t seen before but they are ok. We started out by walking at the same time each day and slowly getting to know just one dog and later when they were used to each other introduced another and so on. We didn`t take either of them to a training class as i don`t think that would have been ideal as it would have been a bit too overwhelming for them for various reasons.
Good luck with Coco, i`m sure that she will be fine given time.
Right i need to pack my stuff up for w*rk so i`ll pop in later.
Have a good day peeps.
SDPlanning on starting the GC again soon

afternoon all:p
Just having a quick coffee in the middle of cleaning through the house.
Been to library this morning to pick up some books they had for me....one is the hummingbird bakery book and can`t wait to get going with that;):D.
I have had a week off and feel like I have done nothing but bake for DS and sort out what to feed him:cool:. DS going to his dads tonight till Sun morning so OH and I have a day off together tomorrow.....have bought 2 huge steaks for our tea tomorrow. I have 4 food books from library and my food mags came through the post today too so am having an afternoon with them tomorrow I think ( well for an hour or so)
Tea tonight is chorizo pasta......DS wants spaghetti on toast before he goes to his dads.....we go to cafe at the church after school on Fridays so he wont have much time to eat more than that before taking him to his dads.
I am also trying to sort out readings for our wedding on and off at the mo...I am so fussy and want something different:o. DS is going to read the kids book " No matter what" at the ceremony. He wanted to say something but I insisted it was strictly set out from the start as he is a bit of a loaded gun when it comes to what he wants to say....he did say he was going to talk about "cats and cats sticky bums":o:eek: and then michael jackson so you can see why he needs strict guidelines:rotfl:
Tiredmum hope it all gets sorted out....I have no advice really as I am as lost as you in the whole thing, you have to just do what feels right at the time but I would make sure your OH is there due to the aggression thing ( what a horrible thing to have to worry about from our children:o:()
oops forgot to say Happy Birthday Smokeybabe:j:D, have a great one!0 -
Back from the hospital and it was good and bad. Arm is healing ok, Doc said probably another 4 weeks and it should be healed:j
The neurologist was his usual charming self:mad: Just fobbed me off again:(
Jackieglasgow Your dog is lovely I adore staffies. My last dog had terrible fear aggression but he came round in the end. We took him to socialisation classes and they helped. The trainer was great and it was a class of 4. He spent the first 4 weeks hiding under a bench.
Pipkin Hope you are feeling better soon. Did you get the results of your scan or did I miss you posting about them:o
Tiredmum Hope you manage to sort things out.Sealed Pot Challenge Member NO. 853 :j0
