I reverted back to my maiden name as soon as possible - I got rid of him and didn't want any trace of him whatsoever!

Kids still kept his name though.

Kept married name as a) my three children have the same surname
    b) it's the only name I've had in my working life
    c) it's much nearer the beginning of the alphabet
    d) I like it and it's unusual & memorable but easy to spell!

  • ex made such a song & dance about changing my name to his when we married that i wanted to become 'me' again. cost £80 for the change of name deed last year and we're still not divorced yet, but am nearly there  I have 2 boys who've kept their dad's surname but tbh in today's society I don't think it matters that we have different surnames.

I kept my ex's surname, as the kids were still in school & it was easier. I've had his name longer than I had my own.

However, I wish I had changed my name back to my maiden name when I moved in with my DF over 3 years ago, as the kids have left home & I moved 50 miles away where noone knew me, whether by my married name or any other! :rotfl: Anyway, we get married in September, so it doesn't matter now :D
  • :owell in a moment of madness i texted him the other night:ohad had a few glasses of wine:otold him i still loved him:ohe texted me back:ocan he come home coz he loves me and the kids..........he was stupid and regrets it all but at end of day thats him i should have realised when we got together he wasnt the faithfull type and he knows he cant change but he does love us and will come back if i want him to:eek::eek::eek:

Ok i got merry and shouldnt have texted him but what kind of idiot does he take me for?????????

New me,new life!!! Me and the kids are doing just fine on our own:D

My mum kept the surname for a few years, and now has chosen to revert back (there's been a sudden trend for it in the family).

Texting him telling him that you still love him, is in my mind leading him, making him believe he may still have a chance, and if he does still love you, cruel.
  • but i do still love him....problem is whilst i think he does love me he just cant be faithful and to my mind that hurts more than being without him. he keeps saying he wants to come back i keep saying no, for over a year he has spent trying to convince me he can be faithful so the first time i give him an opening he tells me he wouldnt be faithful:(
