I work for L'Oreal and Lancome is actually one of their umbrella brands. Whether they use the same ingredients to make the same creams, I am not sure.0

Many years ago, I worked for Trading Standards (it was called 'Consumer Protection' back then). In that capacity, I visited quite a few food manufacturers.
In most cases the story was the same - they made products for a variety of retailers, simply inserting the same product into different packaging.
Several did however tell me that they made different 'grades' (ie qualities) of the same product, retailers specifying the desired quality."Never underestimate the mindless force of a government bureaucracyseeking to expand its power, dominion and budget"Jay Stanley, American Civil Liberties Union.0 -

- Audi TT = Audi A3 Mk1= VW Golf Mk4= VW Beetle = Skoda Octavia Mk1= Seat Leon
- Saab 9-3 = Vauxhall Vectra
- Jaguar X-Type = Ford Mondeo = Mazda 6Sorry, you are wrong about this one. Jaguar are owned by Ford but they are different models built at different plants. Jags are built in Castle Bromwich and Halewood, Mondeo's aren't
- Peugeot 407 = Citreon C5
- Porsche Cayenne = VW Touareg
- Mercedes CLK = Chrysler Crossfire
- Lotus Elise = Vauxhall VX220
- Smart Forfour = Mitsubushi Colt
- VW Sharan = Ford Galaxy = Seat Alhambra
- Vauxhall Astra = Pile of Poo
Hope this helps someone out thereSealed Pot Challenge Member Number #19060 -

They are effectively the same cars tho', same running gear, just badged and priced up.
The Mazda 6 is far and away the best option.0 -

All marks food is produced in a seperate part of the factory, I know that for a fact, marks and spencer bosses can turn up at anytime and shut the factory down if they dont like anything. I knew someone who worked for their meat supplier and seemingly u could have eaten ur dinner off the floors in the marks and spencer part. All marks products are made to marks recipes designed by their food technologists.
Think I posted on this thread before.

Thinking of buying a DVD player. Best advice is to buy the cheapest one you can find with the features you need. (5.1 sound and such like) There is about 4 DVD manufacturers in the world. 2 in China and SONY and Toshiba.
Sony/Toshiba spends a lot of time and effort ensuring their DVD Players only plays the films they would like you to watch. So if you want a multi-region Sony/Toshiba it will cost you a lot more money.
Better idea is to buy a cheap one from Tesco, Safeway or Woolies or any where else you can find one. (a good example is LG or Philips) These usually come from one of the Chinese Manufacturers. These Chinese manufacturers make one DVD player and sell them all around the world with a few software modifications for region coding. This software is easily switched back allowing you to buy your DVD's from anywhere. DVD's from America for example are about half the price we pay in this country. Full details on opening regions can be found on: ((http://www.videohelp.com/dvdhacks))
:rotfl:
An added bonus is these cheaper DVD Players play VCD's (Video CD) SVCD (Super Video CD) and Mini DVD's as well which Sony/Toshiba won't.
Sony/Toshiba also rebadge cheap DVD Players as their own as well. The list is too long to list but imagine buying a expensive DVD Player and finding its only a cheap one rebadged. A list of these can be found here as well ((http://www.videohelp.com/dvdhacks))
The same also goes for DVD Recorders
:T
a lot of manufacturers don't make things like their own disc drives (too expensive to set the production facilities up), so they buy them off another company- a company called liteon.
they now sell their own dvd recorders (did sell players at one time), a typical liteon recorder will come multiformat for about £100, cheap single format one is about £70, expensive one is £150+ and you can usually guess its got a liteon drive on it.
most asda electricals are made by either schneider or alba (they are massive and make most cheap a/v equipement anyway)things arent the way they were before, you wouldnt even recognise me anymore- not that you knew me back thenMercilessKiller wrote: »BH is my best mate too, its ok
