Mcvities do not make biscuits for M&S. Maybe they used to but I'm pretty sure they don't anymore.
How much does the milk cost at Netto?
There are a few people that make chocolate for M&S, Thorntons being one of them.
Again the ready meals are made by various suppliers.
The fresh soups are not made by Baxters as far as I know. I will check that one though.

B&Q essentials own brand showers are rebranded Mira - the electrician even showed me the internal labels saying we'd bought a good 'un when he installed it. Price about half a Mira.

true- we've got a b and q essentials one, when it played up a couple of years ago, my dad opened it up, found the faulty part, replaced it with a part from our old mira shower (exactly the same) and put it back up, worked ever since.
he was gutted they had changed some of the parts in the intervening years cos nothing else was useful off it
things arent the way they were before, you wouldnt even recognise me anymore- not that you knew me back then ;)
BH is my best mate too, its ok :)

I am sure they rip us off too I used to be impressed with te Body Shop oils but they seem to have stopped doing them.

It will be interesting to see if anyone comes up with some good prefume copies cos I sure would buy them I have a heavy hand with the good stuff.

Oooooooops I messed that up I thought by writing inbetween the quote I would get those neat little boxes!!

My dad used to work for the company that made the oils for Body Shop, but the plant has now closed down. They also had a productoin line for cough medicines which got relabelled depending on whether the product was sold as Beechams or Lloyds Chemists own brand etc

I worked for xerox in the forest of dean and on the big stuff we had an order for ibm copiers just a different shade of grey, and had an IBM logo instead of Xerox.

  • Hi just my 2nd post so hope it's ok.

Many moons ago I worked for a factory producing coleslaw (only lasted one night, it was dreadful and I've not eaten shop bought since!) for several big name shops, M & s, Sainsbury etc. I couldn't believe that a) it was identical for everyone and b) that every evening we swept any 'bits' off the floor and chucked them back in the mixing machine.
When you get to the end of your tether....

Tie a knot in it and hang on!

Several years ago, Tesco had a large sign above their Digestive biscuits saying that in tests, theirs proved as good as "the best"! Not surprising really when you consider they were identical in every aspect apart packaging! (Tesco value was a different matter!!!) "the best" being McVities.
I now work for "the best" and can assure you that Tesco Bourbon and Custard Cream brands, no matter what the packaging says, are identical. M&S bourbons sell for what..Around a pound? And Netto for 20-30 odd pence? Same biscuit! Netto last longer!!! Made and packed on same date, same line, same oven, same ingredients. Would have thought there was something illegal in that , but there you go. Same goes for shortcake, ginger nuts, fruit shortcake, rich tea fingers, nice, morning coffee, etc., etc. No different ingredients, as suggested by some posts, they ARE the same. Netto charge 19p for a particular pack and Spar charge 89p!!!

I'm afraid I'll have to take your comments with a grain of salt.

First you say they are identical, then you say that Netto's last longer. I've got a problem with things that are identical but different. :rotfl:

I work for the company that makes Andrex. We used to supply you with paper, we may still do, but I'm not involved in that part any more.
Andrex will not block your loo unless you throw vast quantities down the pan e.g. a whole roll. The average is 12 sheets per flush.

Old sewers, such as belong to most houses in this country, love thin, cheap toilet paper. They hate thick toilet paper. Thick toilet paper may cause blockages eventually. It's not really about how much paper you put down the loo at any one time in normal use.

Interesting about the average number of sheets per flush, though! :D
