Thanks for that, I'll make a point of NEVER buying chicken from M&S again when I'm back across the water - I used to work in the O'Kanes chicken factory in Ballymena, let's just say:eek:

In fact the more I think about it, I don't think I'll take the chance of buying chicken from any M&S now - just in case_pale_ lol
    Dear Lord,
I pray for wisdom to understand my man, love to forgive him and patience for his moods, because Lord, if I pray for strength, I'll beat him to death. :rotfl:

Costco (branded Stoneacre) Free Range Omega 3 Eggs are the same as Columbus Omega 3 Free Range eggs.

Costco Price is £1.80 for 18.

Columbus price for 6 eggs is something similar at my local Sainsbury's.

I know these are the same as the Eggs at costco are marked "Columbus-1"
The farm references etc stamped on the egg are the same as the Columbus ones.

I tried Superdrug optimum skincare range, which smells just the same as M&S face formula....Not used face formula for a while, so I hope the smell hasn't changed. The superdrug brand is much cheaper

i met someone who works for mothers pride. he said that they make bread for loads of shops (he had M&S, coop and other breads with him from the staff shop). he did say though that most places have exactly the same stuff but M&S are more fussy and have their own recipe.

I can confirm that this is the case - we have a large food production plant in our town, and they make their own brand products plus manufacture for most of the major supermarkets. Same production line, but different recipes - esp for M&S, who are very strict on everything - and as someone else has mentioned, when M&S visit its all hands on deck for a major clean up! What happens is they will do a run of, say, M&S pies; then its all change, clean up, and do a run of Tesco pies, and so on.

Years ago, we visited the Baxters soup factory in Scotland (well, it was a wet day!) and they were making soup for Marks and Spencer and they said it was a different recipe of course.
  • I have seen a Freezer in John Lewis which states it is made by a top German manufacturer. Haven't been able to spot the same model elsewhere, does anyone know who makes their freezers.
