Lidls own shortbread (i think its called Castillo) is actually made by Walkers Shortbread
I know this as my partner used to work with Walkers, i will get him to confirm this later. I don't know if any of the ingredients are changed though, but it's still good!
Bought some yesterday the chocolate chip version and if it isn't made by Walkers it isn't a million miles away and taste ohh so yum!0 -
SMELLALIKES WITHOUT THE AIRFARE !
(not that fragrant Amsterdam couldn't please you ;>)vansboy wrote:For all you Moneysavers asking about 'smell alike perfumes...'
Next time easyjet has flights to Amsterdam for £1, almost opposite Hotel De Gerstorkorrel in Damtraat, (an economy but super value hotel) you'll find a VERY interesting shop, selling hundreds of perfumes.
Plenty of well known names, but their main business, is offering copies - not fakes - but products which have extremely similar aroma, to expensive brands.
The guy running the shop really knows his stuff & is a friendly, but a persuasive salesman, so make sure your plastic is well charged!!

Normally I live on the Isle of Man and we have a similar company there:
Ellan Vannin Designer Perfumes Ltd
The Perfumery, Tynwald Mills
St Johns
Douglas
IM4 3AD
Isle of Man
Tel: 01624 801697
Fax: 01624 801772
I couldn't find any website, but I'm sure they do mail order / can fax you a list of products. I had some once, it was really nice, a fraction of the high street originals price and I couldn't tell the difference

I am looking into this, too. I work for M & S but, of course, it is closely-guarded secret. I too have heard that Clinique make the skin preparations and that Estee Lauder make the cosmetics but they are just rumours, I'm afraid0 -

Food wise, read the ingredients, i would suggest that m&s stuff is primarily theirs as little of it has additives in and never found this with other supermarkets.
You can do this with the cheap / normal / "good for you" brands too. In tinned tomatoes (for example) the cheap version has no salt and costs next to nothing, the normal version contains salt and costs a bit more and the "good for you" version contains no salt and costs a fortune. Other than that there is no other difference!0 -
Hello there. I bought an AEG washing machine in Germany in 2001 when we lived there. The water thingy went bust last July and it cost 98 quid to get fixed. I found this good site online but unfortunately can't remember the name (sorry!). It was written by a repair man of 28 years experience and he said that Miele was the best, followed by AEG, Bosch and Zanussi. I was reading an article in the Daily Mail a couple of months back and they said that Miele was going downhill - that their customer services dept, and the "outdated styling" among other things was letting them down and that the brand to buy now is Bosch, again another German brand. My dishwasher went pop the week before Christmas - typical! and I've just bought a Bosch Classix from the Boots website. You also get lots of points on your Boots card too - I have to wait until 21 days after my machine was delivered and then pop my card into the machine in Boots and it will update it for my - over 1,000 points! Boots were the same price as Sainsburys for the dishwasher (259) and 19.99 for delivery - cheaper than Comet and Currys online. I would recommend them - they phoned to arrange delivery and gave me a four hour slot - which was great - they arrived in time and took all the packing away and if I had wanted it they would have installed the dishwasher and taken my old one away if I'd still had it. You have to pay for the convenience of all that of course. My old dishwasher (again bought in Germany) was Servis - wouldn't buy this brand again. It lasted only four years.Scaryfairy :EasterBun

I work for the makers of Clearblue pregnancy tests and apart from the Digital ones which are only Clearblue, the pregnancy tests you buy at all the supermarkets are made by us too. The difference is that they use the older technology and you ahve to wait longer for the reult etc, but you still get the same quality.0
