This is no longer true - have worked in licensed trade for a few years and no that Coke/Schweppes (at least) will make regular visits to pubs in order to reset machines to the right soda/syrup ratio. It is their tasty brand on sale at the pumps and they are quite particular about how it should taste.0 -

My chickens love them!:D
I don't.;)DTD - Doing Tesco Daily - while I still have vouchers!0 -
I have had a search for chicken but no results have appeared.
I was wondering if there was any difference between Tesco (Or any supermarket) Branded chicken Vs No Frills
As the nutritional info is identical.
Anyone have some knowledge they wish to share0 -

Added water?Watched a BBC programme on this once- they mentioned added water and other plumping chemicals. May not show in the nutritional information if your comparing to cooked product as the water would evaporate I guess.
Also, some chemicals do not have nutritional information.
Would imagine there are different cuts or farming issues too, such as the quality of life, the food they eat (wouldn't normally concern me, but then yiu read about BSE when cows were fed the old animlas us humans were not supposed to eat, cows got sick, then said to carry on to humans- not sure what has/has not been proved but this was what I understood from watching the news.) and if they are stressed alot- aparently this can affect the hormonal qualities in food which is being blamed for several health issues- again, not something I know alot about, just saw a documentary on the it/read things on it.0 -

Rice crispy cakes: add melted chocolate, melted marshmellow/honey, some people add butter (not sure why they don't need it!) and leave to chill. Or add to a home made biscuit mix- sounds odd but had a friend do this and she really rated it. It added crunch- you need to reduct the flour or add the sugar and milk to compensate for what you add.
Add to the top of fruit crumbles or shepherds pie for extra crunch.
Crumble (use a rolling pin) and use to add extra crunch to the top of pastries or home made bread.
Bird food (n/b not near homes as pidgeons can cause damage to houses and get you in to trouble with the local council!) but can give small children something to do!
Use to mop up spills of things like wine- so they can later be hoovered or swept up (or thats a desperate resort!)
Or feed to guests as breakfast when you want some sort of revenge or do not want them to return to your home overnight!0 -
Hi Moneysavingmaniac.
We now get our meat from a butchers on the local market,,always used to be under the impression it would be more expensive but its actually not and the taste in quality is much better,,I always thought it was rubbish but it's worth it.0 -

Sounds like a good idea, think I will give it a whirl. However on a search for a butchers its seems they have nearly been wiped out in my area
As Jenniewb said, you cannot trust the packaging as there are so many things they can "miss out".
