  • Tesco's Value Washing Up Liquid is so dilute I have had to upgrade to better brands. I use Tesco own brand and am a bit fanatical and buy two bottles at a time because I am a profligate user. I think I may need MSE Forum Therapy!!

My dad used to work for Duerrs Jam.
He once told me that they make all the Jam and theres a converbelt (sp?) thingy that splits in 3 directions, 1 goes of to be Branded Duerrs, The next is branded teso asda etc etc and the third for faulty etc jars for bin.
Absolutly no difference what so ever exact same jam just debranded :)

Im also told by a good friend the flowers you buy in M&S are the exact same flowers you buy in Aldi but there the ones that just didnt quite make the M&S Grade so dont look AS good. xx
  • the tesco value jaffa cakes are just like mcvities but possibly ones which did not make the grade

the flowers from ALDI don't last as long as the M&S ones ......................but then they are cheaper! I use them if I want some that will open the next day. The annual bedding plants are good value, I find.

    I disagree with this:

I used to live in with many others, we'd share the cleaning and used value washing up-liquid.

It would not bubble nearly as much as fairy- and adding salt would help prevent any further bubbles for forming so I cannot see how adding salt would help. Any bubbles that were formed would soon vanish (given a few minutes- I know because the few times I've added too much liquid, I have to remove the bubbles before I can reach the plates. I do this with the help of salt and a 30 second pause). And as for scent, there was none.

The bottle would normally last us 2 weeks at best. My bottle of Fairy lasts me a good few months (4-5 months)

Also, the economy liquid would never get rough stains and dried on food off plates without A LOT of elbow grease and further washing-up fluid added. (in the end I would give up and add surface cleaner as it actually did work!). Again, I cannot see how adding salt would help to clean things more thoroughly, as quickly or make the job any more enjoyable,

Can I ask and I'm not being confrontational but what size bottle of Fairy do you buy and how do you make it last so long. I buy the 650ml size and that last 3 weeks at a push, and there are only 3 of use so not a big household.

    Thanks

I've had these savoury ones before http://www.grouprecipes.com/3459/cheese-crispies.html but not sure which crispies were used. Plus, although the recipe doesn't show it, I know a pinch of dry mustard was used too.

I would think the choccy ones would turn out ok though - you don't really taste the cripies, they are there more for texture :)
