Hello everyone! Weighing in at 9 stone 4 this morning. I hope to loose 4 this month so I'll be 9 stone for my birthday!! Going to try harder this month not to drink so much wine, not that I'm a drunk lol! I just like a glass or two in the evening but will try to restrict this to 2 nights per week.

Same here, I drink wine way too often - probably have at least one glass 4 or 5 evenings a week. So I think cutting out the alcohol at home may help me!

My starting weight according to the Wii Fit is 8st 6lbs. If I can lose 2lbs per week I will be 8st for my birthday :)

I know people say it's bad to get obsessive about calories, but I find it's the only way I actually lose weight (cutting out different food group doesn't work for me). The past fortnight I just guessed at the calories I was consuming and gained... so am going back to my old ways.

Today's calories - 1519. Bit of a struggle to get them that high, I think partly because I drank so much tea :o

There's probably more calculators on different sites but i use this one:
    http://recipes.sparkpeople.com/recipe-calculator.asp

I seem to do better counting calories too. I hoped once i'd done it for a couple of weeks i could have learnt how much i could eat without counting but it didn't seem to work for me. I'll still have some weeks off counting though cause it gets a bit tedious.

Oh i nearly forgot... I did manage to lost 4lbs (just about...) last month :) now 9stone 1.5 lbs i think though it's a bit hard to read on the wii fit graph.
I will be happy to be below 9stone again! I gained about 2 stone in my first couple of years of uni and was at my heaviest at about 10 stone this time last year. It was some unflattering photos from last april that made me want to lose weight

The http://caloriecount.about.com (as referenced in post #1) web site lets you find calories for food items so you can add ingrediants in the recipe with weights and measures there too. Bit time consuming but after a while you'll have done all your favourite recipes.

This is my downfall too - I really do like my glass of wine or two in the evening after a hard day's work.

The trouble is I have cut out so many other edible treats that this is really the last remaining one :(

Have just ordered a book from Amazon which has AMAZING reviews it's called You Can Be Thin by Marisa Peer, think it helps with cutting out carbs and dairy which would be BRILLIANT. I'm sure you would be able to get it from the library but it's on at half price at Amazon if you fancy trying it out - http://www.amazon.co.uk/You-Can-Thin-Programme-Dieting/dp/1847441394/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1267453902&sr=8-1 hope this helps.......;)

I've recently borrowed the Anna Richardson Body Blitz Diet book from my local library and am a bit disappointed with it. I thought it was going to give me tips on how to follow the diet she did on My Big Fat Diet Show but instead it talks about following 5 rules which depict certain foods to avoid - wheat, dairy, carbs (after 6.00pm), alcohol (and can't remember the last but it's probably chocolate!). There's no way I'll be doing this. OK, the carbs after 6.00pm I could do and I have given up alcohol already but wheat and dairy I just couldn't. Find these types of diets too restricting.
Back for the No Buying Toiletries challenge. I pledge to only buy when I run out of a product that is not already in my stash no matter what wonderful emails land in in my Inbox or threads I read on MSE re: glitches!

    I've been Money Tipped!
FWIW I was weighed today and it looks like I might have gained 0.5 of a lb last month...which was better than I expected after the drug change. :( I'm please its roughly a STS so at least my attention is being rewarded in limited gain. (they recorded it as STS from the purpose of records)

Everything else was depressing and not very helpful, but have another appt this week...maybe that will be more proactive.

I use the Asda website..! We shop there so most of the products we eat are on there. With things made from scratch I roughly guesstimate the weight of each thing. I am a tad obsessive, I must admit.

today's calories - 1702 :o And I still feel a bit peckish as I had my tea early (well, 4pm... that's early for me).
