Well done coco1980, body combat is a great class, isn't it?
I have news! I've been for a run!!! First one since my ankle injury and I took it easy, but I feel soooo good! Ah, the old runner's high (a small dose of it anyway lol). I also ate a smaller dinner than I would have otherwise. :beer:Get to 119lbs! 1/2/09: 135.6lbs 1/5/11: 145.8lbs 30/3/13 150lbs 22/2/14 137lbs 2/6/14 128lbs 29/8/14 124lbs 2/6/17 126lbs

Hi all,
I know I'm VERY late for this month, but would still like to join in if that's ok? I started a massive weight-loss mission last week. I really need to lose about 5 stone but am aiming for 3 in the first instance (just because 5 seems too much to get my head round yet!)
5 days into my diet, my brother's fiancee called to ask if I'll be her bridesmaid when they get married next April, so talk about an added incentive to shift those pounds!
Sooooo...I'm now one week in, got weighed this morning and have managed to lose 10lbs!I'm really pleased but know most of it's water at the beginning and it will slow down alot from now on. After this initial month, I'm going to set myself a target of 7lbs a month, so thought this would be the ideal place to be for moral support!
Well done to all you losers and sending us all bucketloads of motivation!

Welcome to the thread, GC77!!! Good start you have made there, but take it easy
What are you doing to lose weight?
Just take it half a stone at a time, as Dragon says - it makes it much more manageable.Get to 119lbs! 1/2/09: 135.6lbs 1/5/11: 145.8lbs 30/3/13 150lbs 22/2/14 137lbs 2/6/14 128lbs 29/8/14 124lbs 2/6/17 126lbs

Hi tara and thanks for the welcome!
Yeah my target has always been half a stone a month, but I kind of expected it would come off quickly at first cos I have so much to lose.
I'm just eating low-fat and trying to keep carbs down a bit cos they're my downfall! So a typical day for me would be:
breakfast: branflakes with skimmed milk, a cup of coffee (no sugar, skimmed milk)
lunch: a wholemeal roll with ham (fat cut off) and mustard (no butter), and a banana
evening meal: chicken and loads of veg, maybe a couple of new potatoes but limiting them.
And loads of water through the day! I have to say I find it boring though so am having a quarter of a glass of apple juice topped up with water.
I'm trying to be much more active too-no formal exercise yet (need to build myself up to that!), but just taking the stairs at work and getting out and about more with my little boy for long walks etc.
Thanks again so much for the welcome!

Booo STS for me this week
Me too though I still feel good because a pair of size 16 jeans that I bought on 18 Feb (which Emma gave me for mother's day) now fit when the button and its hole were a good 2 inches apart when I tried them on at purchase. xBack for the No Buying Toiletries challenge. I pledge to only buy when I run out of a product that is not already in my stash no matter what wonderful emails land in in my Inbox or threads I read on MSE re: glitches!
