Glass must be half full here.
My wife told me that she had an increase of £2 !!! She didn't mention anything about a few pence short.0 -
remember this increase is based on the rpi in september which at the time was actually minus 1.4%,so the govt reverted to the rossi index to give pensioners a 2.5% increase, which is more than many benefits are increasing by,and 100% more than the increase many workers will be getting this year0

Thanks Woodbine, please excuse me if I don't sob my heart out over the plight of workers who won't get an increase. They have a far larger disposable income to start with than pensioners do, the opportunity to attempt to obtain a second job, to work overtime, and they're out of the house all day not burning gas and electric in an attempt to stave off hypothermia. Rant over.
I have decided I wil spend my weekly increase on a Sunday newspaper and a box of matches. :j :j :j.....................I'm smiling because I have no idea what's going on ...:)

With no chance of overtime and two 'kids' at Uni I'm trying to increase my hours at work in order to save for my retirement!
it appears that there won't be a state retirement pension by the time I am finally allowed to retire:

Not if you're a banker, though.0 -
Bankers seem to be doing very nicely thank you very much. Considering they started the mess in the first place.....Be happy, it's the greatest wealth0
