I hate the powder. I am sure i dont overload but there still are white marks on the clothes.

I think you must be or over dosing powder or not using a hot enough wash.

I use powder and have a combi boiler so the water that fills the machine straight away is cold. The only white patches I seem to get are from tissues left in the pockets :o

You are suppose to be able to put your clenched fist (Knuckles in a vertical line) in to the machine on top of the washing that is in there. If you can't get your fist in you have over filled the machine.

Why not dissolve the washing powder in some warm water before putting in the tray. And it goes in the biggest compartment as the other is for pre-washing.

I use powder because I will not pay the silly prices for gels/liquids and tablets.

    Yours

Costco do thier own brand washing powder. It's about 9pounds a tub I think. It lasts for ages - I haven' bought one for at least 4 months and I do 2-3 washes a day. Seems to work ok but I do occasionally add some stain stuff (I have very messy children).

Better still my MIL used to work in Levers and gets invited to an oprn day each summer. She gets as much washing powder, washing up liquid and softner as she can fit in the boot of her car. She is very traditional and will only use Persil. This year they gave away a load of Surf tablets and some gel tabs designed for a foregn market - she didn't want it so she gave it to me.:j

Went to Aldi for the first time yesterday, impressed with cheapo half-baked bread, doughnuts and vino! :T
