Hi William,
good stuff - you are doing really well. BTW, I just came back fro m Paris (there for the day for work) and guess what? Tomoorow France will be paralysed by a general strike - and this means everyone. The strike is about the increase in pension age from 60 to 62 years.

Hello everyone. Its been about a month since my last post. Contrary to popular belief, it wasnt me who won 115 million on the euromillions and haven't done a runner! Its been a bloody manic, scary month at work and home, but very fulfilling as well. I cant get too much time on here at the moment, but I promise to bring all up to date next week,
I am still clean, still in debt but still kicking and screaming!0 -
So pleased to hear from you, my friend. I knew you are clean - I believed it and I checked on another thread. Look after yourself. And thanks about the advice on buying stuff for bathrooms - shopping on the web hubby saved us probably about £2,000.

Good afternoon everyone. I am so sorry I have not ben around for a while. Life has been a bit of a rollacoaster at work and at home so been getting on with getting on. Things have sorted themselves out a bit so HOPEFULLY I will give you all a full update in the next week. Will be catching up on the other two diaries I check and will post on them in due course. I am still clean, I haven't gambled and intend to stay clean.
Be good people, Im watching!0 -

Ladies and gentleman, I have returned to my writings.
Gosh it's been a while since I have sat down and put my fingers to the keyboard. Too long some might say, not long enough othyers...but tough. Im back.
Ok, abrief history of me and my problems. A complulsive gambler that was sooooooooo appallingly bad at it that loses totalled £20k plus at one point. I am a sharlatan and a liar of great expertise.
My LBM was in February this year when I realised that I would lose my wife, my hom and my children should I continue gambling, and losing as I was. I stopped on the 24th February. I have stayed clean ever since.
I have struggled to reduce my debts, but next year, 2011 is make or break, and I will attempt to reduce the debt by a minimum of £6k. I have already disposed of an £800 overdraft and now will attempt to keep it that way. If those that have been regulars are reading this, please forgive my absense, I have not been well, and have not been in the right frame of mind to really get to grips with writing. I lost a close friend, and I have been in a dark place. I have been feeling my mortality and its been a rough few months. One of the few saving graces is that before I would have used it as an excuse to lapse and gamble. This time, I have just been sullen, moody and a pain for those around me.
But, as I said, I am back. I have brooded enough, I am now ready to continue the fight. !!!! Cameron and Clegg and their cuts. I will not be beaten and I will overcome all my hurdles and succeed. By April 2012, when my mortgage is ready to be renegotiated, I WILL have reduced my 17K debt to under 9K.
Firewalker, Savingswannabe, I will be looking out for you both. I will do a big catch up on all my subscribed threads this week.
More soon. Promise. I need your support people. 2011 is looking a rough road, so please be there for me...0 -

Last time I read tha I was in short trousers! Have a real liking for Science fantasy and have read (and re-read) all of Raymond E Feists books. In fact just finished his latest one. Will see if I have a copy in the storeroom.0
