BBC1 The day the immigrants left

Sorry but all these immigrants coming over and paying for brits to sit on their backside is trot.
Sorry but all these immigrants coming over and being a burden on your precious NHS or benefits system is trot.
The majority of Poles/Lithuanians/Slovaks..are young, healthy people, only interested in one thing: making money.
I am a Western European immigrant, my wife is Eastern European and believe me, we're not here to collect that lousy 70 quid a week job seekers allowance and we're not waiting for our £150 a week pension.
And what medical or dental treatment is concerned, whenever we can we go back to my wife's home country to get it done. No waiting lists over there, clean hospitals and cheap
So you carry on waving the flag and blaming immigrants for all that's bad. I suppose it's more comforting than facing the reality of a failing education system, lost competitiveness and a culture of rewarding the idle.

Really? ALOT of work that I know immigrants do is cash in hand. Polish workers for example in kings lynn is a good example.
Sorry but all these immigrants coming over and paying for brits to sit on their backside is trot.
If anything, immigrants are a burden, except to small business who love cheap labour.
If I had it my way, our immigration policy would reflect that of Australia.lol oh so I'm racist now because I disagree with the UK's current immigration policy? lol
Firstly I do not live in a council house (which I hardly see why that matters?)
The only point proven is your 'ability' to spout rubbish.
Afraid I'm with chucky on this one. & I'm suprised at you calling him a troll.
By the way, out of interest, what happened to your signature? You know, the one that used to say BNP supporter. Why'd you change it?
Seems to have corresponded with the time you started posting on this bit of the forums...It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.0 -
i disagree
you could travel 100 miles in Europe and you will find a completely different culture.
you could travel 1000 miles in South East Asia and it feels like you haven't moved
it may be obvious but it surprised me
You've obviously never travelled in South East Asia then.
India has multiple states, all of which are like different countries.0 -
This is nonsense, spent a fair amount of time in South East Asia albeit 20 years ago. North Thailand very different to the South, and both bear no similarity to Bangkok. Likewise Indonesia.
India can also be very different, for a start it depends on whether the area is mainly muslim, hindu or Sikh (Punjab), not too mention the difference between cities and countryside.
SE Asia has a lot of shared culture, which when you cant speak any of the regional dialects, or read or understand any of their media, is more apparent to a visitor than the differences.
I dont think this is a bad thing, SE Asia is one of my favourite places in the world thanks to the hospitality and level headedness of the inhabitants.
Obviously I'm not incorporating Indonesia into that last statement.
Never again.
Edit - I dont think Thailand 20 years ago would bear much similarity to today. In any case the Thais have a reputation for being rather cold and arrogant amongst their neighbours. Its a good place to stop off when you need a Frappucinno but otherwise Myanmar, Laos, Cambodia and Vietnam are better places to travel through imo.0 -

nearly a good point but you're letting yourself down (again) as India is South Asia and not really South East Asia.
better luck next time WTFster
Nice to see you haven't grown up yet chucky.
Perhaps you need to get out of the house and travel a bit more, maybe to South East Asia, where you will see that there is an enormous amount of variety.0 -
Can we not just agree that there is both variety AND homogeneity in SE Asia and then get back to moaning about immigrants and workshy chavs which is what the thread is about?0
